**Bob Brunson, The Ultimate KISS Fan as seen on A&E/Gene Simmon’s Family Jewels, is launching a fan-based song-writing project and promotion called…
“Friends With Painted Faces.” tm **
The idea is to have KISS fans everywhere write down and email, in a few lines, what KISS has meant to them over the years. Brunson will use this input to compose and record a tribute song for the band. “This was one of several ideas I’d mentioned to Gene during the taping of Family Jewels, and something I feel is extremely appropriate for a band that has meant so much to its fans for such a long time now, including me!” said Brunson.
In addition, Brunson is actively seeking/soliciting several well-known Hollywood producers to help with the arrangement and production of the song. “Given where KISS is in its career, as well as Gene’s promotional savvy, I want to really maximize the visibility and credibility of the project, positioning it for inclusion in Family Jewels Season 2, and/or Gene's forthcoming Box Set/Greatest Hits!" said Brunson.

** Hollywood, Calif. - Bob Brunson, The Ultimate KISS Fan seen on A&E Television’s Gene Simmon’s Family Jewels is scheduled to appear on LA’s Cable Show The Rustam Report in April & May.

** Mission Viejo, CA - Bob Brunson, the Ultimate KISS Fan on A&E/Gene Simmon’s Family Jewels has teamed with Chicago-based charity About Face USA to donate 25% of all proceeds from purchases/downloads of the tribute song “Friends With Painted Faces.”
Following his appearance on A&E’s popular reality show, Brunson invited KISS fans everywhere to write in and tell him why they loved the band. He used this input and his own to write and record the first-ever official tribute song for a band, inspired by its fans and recorded by the Ultimate Fan.
“I first heard of the charity a few years back when Paul Stanley did some work for the International group. I was really impressed with the wonderful and important work they do for people with facial differences, so I contacted the U.S. organization about getting involved,” said Brunson. “I’m a big believer in helping others, and with this song being about believing in yourself and never giving up on your dreams, it seemed like a perfect fit. I’m honored to work with them; they’ve been great!”
“We’re very excited about our relationship with Bob and his commitment to increasing public awareness,” said Debbie Oliver, Executive Director of AboutFace USA. She noted that cleft lip and palate is the most common birth defect in the United States according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). “Facial differences are also caused by trauma, burns and disease,” she said. “We’re working to dispel the myths about people who look different because of a medical condition, and direct patients and families to the assistance they need. We’re making a world of difference in a world of facial differences…that’s our mission.”
Brunson expects to have a song preview posted on his website by the end of July, and the full song available for online purchase through a variety of channels by the end of summer 2007.

“KISS fans are extremely loyal, so there was certainly no shortage of inspiration, but I knew for this project to sound as good as possible, and to really have the credibility it deserved, I’d need someone with clout, visibility, and immense talent to help me do it right,” said Brunson. “Ron’s resume is unbelievable, he’s worked with everyone from Led Zeppelin to the Rolling Stones to KISS, so I am absolutely thrilled to have him on-board!”

Bio
Bob Brunson was born in 1967 in Sopranos country, Elizabeth, NJ. He heard the opening riff in "25 or 6 To 4" by Chicago on the radio when he was five and that was it! He grabbed the closest tennis racket, proceeded to rock out in front of the mirror, and from that point on his feet were on the path!
Bob's family moved to Kansas City in 1976, where he was first introduced to the arena gods of the 70's & 80's. Groups like Journey, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Van Halen and Motley Crue had a profound affect on Bob, but none hit home as much KISS. From Ace Frehley's smoking guitars to Paul Stanley's soaring vocals, Bob knew what he wanted to do.
He locked himself in his room and taught himself to sing and play guitar by listening to KISS records. Bob started his first band, Pegasus, and they quickly became the talk of the town, then the region. They hit the ground running, winning contests, scoring local airplay, and getting the attention of local media and record producers. Unfortunately Bob's dad got transferred out of state.
Unwilling to gamble his future, Bob took the safe route and went along. Eighteen years later, he's settled with his family in Orange County and has a successful career in marketing. However the dream never died and he continued playing, singing and writing songs over the years, waiting for the right time to ressurrect his dream. After a decade of hearing the same tired sounding bands, Bob decided to get off the sidelines. He's a true renaissance man who believes we only get one chance in life to DREAM BIG and LIVE LARGE!
Bob's been married for 12 years and has 3 wonderful children. He's written/recorded many songs, several books, scripted & pitched several TV shows, radio/tv commercials, appearing in several, and just appeared on A&E's Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
He works at an advertising agency in Orange County, and owns his own copywriting/ communications firm with his wife. In addition, he is the public relations director & event planning co-chair of for a wonderful charity that helps adults with special needs. Bottom line... he will not STOP until he reaches the TOP, and puts the FUN back in Rock and Roll!
