BandWorldAdult Contemporary

The type of songs that I write are easy listening, I have all sorts of genres and could adapt if someone wants me to write for them [it would be lyrics only] But there is the possibility of the music as well.

Biography

I play bass in a covers band and decided to write some of my own material. I,m not looking to perform these songs just either sell or licence them. If someone wants me to write a particular style then I would do that, at the moment I am working on some instrumentals.

Lyrics

Shed A Tear

Written By: R McDonnell

See the girl lying in the street
Cardboard covers for her shelter
See the old man he's begging for food
You,ve seen one side now here,s the other

For many years they have lived in the streets
All they,ve got is each other
They,re flesh & blood and they realise
They're all sisters & brothers

CHORUS
Shed a tear for the lonely
It never rains but it pours
Shed a tear for the lonely
Ah ah ah ah one day that child might be yours

For the poor its a cruel world
It seems that nobody cares
Another day that lasts forever
Its not a dream its a nightmare

A little thought for the girl in the street
There's no one to care for
A little thought for the man begging food
If they come knocking on your door

CHORUS
Shed a tear for the lonely
It never rains but it pours
Shed a tear for the lonely
Ah ah ah ah one day that child might be yours

Guitar Break
Chorus to fade

THINK

Written By: R McDonnell

THINK OF ALL THESE PEOPLE
THE STREETS ARE COLD AND DARK
USING CARDBOARD COVERS
AND SLEEPING IN THE PARK
THEY HAVE NO HOME TO GO TO
NO PROSPECTS IN THE MORN
THERE'S NO ONE TO CARE FOR THEM
ON ANOTHER COLD DAY DAWN

chorus
SHED A TEAR FOR THE LONLEY
IT NEVER RAINS BUT IT POURS
SHED A TEAR FOR THE LONLEY
ONE DAY THAT CHILD MIGHT BE YOURS

FOR THE POOR ITS A CRUEL WORLD
IT SEEMS THAT NOBODY CARES
ANOTHER DAY THAT LASTS FOREVER
ITS NOT A DREAM ITS A NIGHTMARE
THE NEXT DAY MEANS NOTHING AT ALL
THINK OF WHAT THEY GO THROUGH
ANOTHER DAY OF BEGGING FOR FOOD
THEY HAVE NOTHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO

chorus

THINK OF ALL THE CHILDREN
THINK OF YOUNG AND OLD
THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE
THINKOF WHAT YOU'RE TOLD
WE'RE ALL SISTERS AND BROTHERS
THINK OF WHAT THIS MEANS
THINK OF HELPING EACH OTHER
TO FULFILL EACH OTHERS DREAMS

chorus X 2 and fade

Purely Insane

Written By: Bob McDonnell

DOWN AMONG THE SHADOWS
IN THE HEART OF THE TOWN
THERE'S A LOT OF NASTY PEOPLE
WITH DEALS GOING DOWN
GOTTA KEEP MY DISTANCE
AND DON'T GET TOO NEAR
DEATH IS ON THE DOORSTEP
YOU CAN SMELL THE FEAR

chorus
NEVER CROSS THESE PEOPLE
YOU GOTTA REFRAIN
COS MESSIN WITH THESE PEOPLE
IS PURELY INSANE

HEAR THE COPS A COMMIN
IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT
SEE THESE GUYS ALL SCATTER
WHEN THEY SEE THE BLUE LIGHT
RUN IN ALL DIRECTIONS
AND INTO THE NIGHT
DON'T EVER BE AROUND THERE
YOU KNOW ITS NOT RIGHT

chorus
NEVER CROSS THESE PEOPLE
YOU GOTTA REFRAIN
COS MESSIN WITH THESE PEOPLE
IS PURELY INSANE

EXSTACY AND COCAINE
THE DEAL OF THE DAY
NEVER BUY THIS GEAR MAN
JUST HEAR WHAT I SAY
THE COPS ARE ALWAYS LOOKIN
THEY'RE ASKIN YOUR NAME
COS MESSIN WITH THESE PEOPLE
IS PURELY INSANE

Discography

I started writing and recording in 1992 and in 1993 we was Midland Artist of the week which earned an interview and some air play on national radio. The singer of Chaser [the band I was in] and myself recorded all the songs we have on a 4 track recorder in my dining room. I now have a digital 16 track which all new material from now on will be recorded on.

Set List

When we play live the songs I write are too technical to play so we play covers. Typical songs we do are Elton John, Bryan Adams, Queen, and Mustang Sally type songs that people can dance to.
