Biography

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Peck, who puts his own brand on Buffet tunes and other covers, also offers up original music inspired by years of living and working on Cape Cod.

“My experiences with the ocean, its life forms and the people of the Cape, are a large part of who I am,” says Peck, who has taught sailing and scuba diving for years. “It’s as if the sounds of the Cape have become background music in my ears. Give me my guitar, my dog Shelby, and a sailboat balanced on the wind, and I’m happy. Give me a place to sing about it to others and I’m in heaven.”

Peck performs solo, as a member of the popular group Big Fish, and as part of a duo with longtime friend and bass guitar player Bob Smith.

“Some of my favorite times have been when I was singing and playing guitar,” Peck says. “I cannot remember a time when music wasn’t a part of my life. I cut my musical teeth on blues and rock when I was a teen-ager and started a group called Three Penny Opera. I went to sleep playing ‘Sunshine of My Love’ and woke up playing ‘The House of the Rising Sun’.”

Peck especially enjoys performing “My Friend, My Dog,” a song he wrote about his beloved Golden Retriever-Chow while sitting on First Encounter Beach in Eastham, Peck’s hometown.

Other original songs that are regularly part of his sets include: “Summer Sun,” “ Hidden Path,” “I’ll Sail,” “Beach In My Toes” and “Whales Around The Bend.” Production on Peck’s first CD “Wind In My Sails” is just complete.

Reflections of days gone by
Tell the story again my friend …..Make me feel that trip again
Captured in the memories that last

Turn the corner and be the best
Out hearts and goals can motivate or stress
Learn the difference and have success

Don’t be wasting time himmin and howin
Work a plan and get yourself running
Nothing comes easy that’s worth a lot
Looking back it’s the process not the thought

Life not a race but keep on cursing
Those left behind are still caught up stewing
Enjoy the challenges keep the roses bloomin

Whales Around The Bend

Written By: Bob Peck

Whales Around The bend – Bob Peck – “Wind In My Sails”

I’m heading down to mc Mc Millen wharf I’m going to hitch me a ride
The dolphin fleet is boarding I hope it will take me for a ride
I need to be with the whales with one swimming on each side

Chorus:
I’m going around the bend known as wood end
Going around the bend known as wood end
In search of some whales … Hope to see them again

Stellwagen in the distance race point off the stern
Spouts in a distance from Nancy the Naturist I just learned
I can’t wait to see them I’m excited to have returned

Chorus:

I see a whale breaching in the distance now – looks like coral to me
He’s bubble feeding on the surface – she looks busy as can be
He’s with Salt and Spray and birds on the sea

Chorus

Our trip is over now and it’s been quite a ride
I seen whales, dolphin and seals swimming by our side
It has been an exciting trip captain I want to take you for the ride

Beach In My Toes

Written By: Bob Peck

Beach In My Toes “Wind In My Sails – Bob Peck

Reflecting back in time bought year’s ago
Like melting snow here today and gone tomorrow
Wishing you was here share my thoughts and have a beer
Wouldn’t be just fine back to another time

Chorus
Thank of when I walked with you cloths off and peak a boo
On this sandy beach it’s the best thing to do

I walked along looking for away back home
Back in time memories of year’s gone by
I remember when all the times I spent with friends
Canteens, dances, the bars good times by far

Chorus

I walk along this beach waves breaking at my feet
I think of you and how things used to be
My thoughts drift away another time, place and day
I was young and free content as can be

Chorus

As I walked along I had the beach in my toes
