Biography

Living in a world of mystique, Bob Ricci was rarely one to give interviews. Writing the songs that defined a generation of classic rock fans, though, answered more questions than any interview could. After penning the song "Stairway to Hea... ...Yikes, I'm sorry. I'm the manager for a multitude of artists and sometimes I get them mixed up. Is it alright if I start over? Bob's paying me a ton of money to write this and I don't want to get the wrong information out!

Background

Bob Ricci is a musical artist, with a knack for comedy, who has been performing parodies and writing creatively original music since his early teens. Bob has built a diverse and powerful fan base over the years through exciting and funny live performances with his band, as well as his “ingenious and hilarious” lyrical compositions. What makes Bob exciting and refreshing among the other musical performance/comedy shows is his dedication to the integrity of the artists’, and his own, music.

The Bob Ricci Band has recorded, promoted, and sold two record albums and is currently working on their hotly anticipated third album this winter; with requests for more national and international CD sales and new music received daily. Since the release of his last album, Not Another Christmas Album (songs included on demo), Bob has become an internet phenomenon with a video receiving over 10 million unique hits and a website with upwards of 350,000 hits per day at its peak. Bob also has a nasty habit of hitting the top charts for every musical website that hosts his music (myspace.com, isound.com, buzzplay.com, etc, etc, etc . . .).

This has garnered attention and recognition from pop culture icons including Weird Al, Howard Stern, Bowling for Soup, The Dr. Demento show, and others. Howard Stern has discussed Bob Ricci’s promising outlook with his radio fans, and Jon Bermuda Schwartz, drummer for “Weird Al” Yankovic since 1981, has said, “Excellent work on those songs … it’s well played and well recorded. What more could you ask for? Some of the tracks sound like something Al would have recorded!” Jaret Reddick, lead singer of Bowling For Soup, proclaims, “Funny stuff! I really got a kick out of this…” The Bob Ricci Band’s own musical hilarities headlined for Alcon in Chicago as he performed to over 500 fans. Bob and the usual gang of idiots (i.e. ‘the band’) will next be seen on college stages and venues as he prepares for the release of his newest CD.

Internet Love Song (She Blocked Me)

Written By: Bob Ricci

Internet Love Song
(Parody of "She Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd)
New lyrics by Bob RIcci

Met a girl over the net
Saved our chats on a floppy diskette
It went well for a week or two
Then it all came unglued
One night she said "brb"
Waited up for an hour or three
Then I started to realize
She wasn't coming back online

She frickin' blocked me
Trust
She frickin' blocked me
La la la la
We talked all night
Then she put my screen name on her block list
Then she clicked ok

She told me she was taking a shower
And she'd be back in a half hour
But she pulled one over on me
WTF, OMFG
I was ticked, but not convinced
Had to be sure before my ego was minced
Good thing I'm such a whiz
Signed on with my other name and yup, there she is

She frickin' blocked me
Trust
She frickin' blocked me
La la la la
We talked all night
Then she put my screen name on her block list
Then she clicked ok

That's my story, as you see
Never trust a woman when she says "brb"
Now it's over, and I'm torn
But I signed her up for beastiality porn

She frickin' blocked me
Trust
She frickin' blocked me
La la la la
We talked all night
Then she put my screen name on her block list
Then she clicked ok

(La la la la la la la la la la)
Trust
(La la la la la la la la la la)
Trust
(La la la la la la la la la la)
Then she put my screen name on her block list
(La la la la la la la la la la)
She frickin' blocked me

Depressing Rock Song

Written By: Bob Ricci

I grew up in a little suburbia
I graduated at the top of my class
My parents loved me, my friends they all envied
The kind of life that they all knew that I had
I got accepted to an Ivy League college
My Mom and Dad paid every step of the way
I’m graduated now in financial freedom
I’m getting thousands of job offers a day

But Uncle Cliffy said to follow my passion
He told me I should always do what I like
I’ve always dreamed of someday being a rock star
So I went out and did my hair in a spike
I got a tattoo and a couple of piercings
I threw out all my Abercrombie and Fitch
But when I started on my rock and roll lyrics
I realized there might be one tiny hitch

Cause I ain’t had no dire trauma
And I ain’t got no burning pain
Ain’t got no reason to be angry
Ain’t got no reason to complain, yeah

I’m trying to write a depressing rock song
But everything in my life is OK
I ain’t got no depressing story
I’ve never really even had a bad day

My girlfriend told me she’d be into a threesome
I won the lottery the first time I played
I saved a family from a burning apartment
I'm being honered in a local parade
I've just been chozen as the new Dalai Lama
I won the nobel prize for just being me
I wish so bad that something awful would happen
So I can finally feel some kind of grief

Cause I ain't got no brooding anger
And I can't bring myself to hate
I'm so happy and elated
Everything is just so great, yeah

I’m trying to write a depressing rock song
But everything in my life is OK
How will I ever make the top 40?
If I don’t scream and yell and fuss and complain?

I’m trying to write a depressing rock song
But everything in my life is OK
I’m trying to sing about how tough that I’ve had it, but
The silver spoon, it always gets in my way

I’m trying to write a depressing rock song
But everything in my life is OK
I ain’t got no depressing story
But I won’t let this killer riff go to waste

(I’m trying to write a depressing rock song)
I’m so happy
(I’m trying to write a depressing rock song)
I’m so happy
(I’m trying to write a depressing rock song)
I’m so happy
(I’m trying to write a depressing rock song)
I’m so happy
(I’m trying to write a depressing rock song)
I’m so happy
