"Who Is Bo Dean? Hip Hop With A Purpose"

Bovember 2, written and composed by Bo Dean, is definitely music for the soul. Now before you go thinking that Bo is one of hip hop’s hottest new artists, just know that he’s been perfecting his craft for some time. Because of this, Bovember 2 demands respect from listeners and the hip hop industry alike. This is hands down one of the hottest mixtapes of the year, painting a beautiful picture of success, pain, joy, patience and perseverance. From front to back, this mixtape is pure crack!

Bo Dean comes from a city whose voice has faded from the hip hop scene and whose underrepresented talent and progressive crime rates give it an increasingly negative presence in the media. Outside of the Cardinals recent World Series victory, St. Louis hasn’t gotten much shine since Nelly’s prime and the Rams won the super bowl (almost 12 years ago!). Luckily, there are many young artists and entrepreneurs fighting to change this. Bo Dean is one of them! He has been going hard for several years, each one of his mixtapes demonstrating his dedication and progression as an artist. From the K.R.A.C.K.-A.L.B.U.M to Bovember to Enuff Said (costarring Lz), it’s very easy for listeners to earn respect and admire his work.

So what’s so special about Bovember 2? It’s the passion, the DOPE lyrics and the storytelling above anything else. You can hear it in his voice that he’s ready to take on anyone and anything that attempts to stand in his way of accomplishing everything he’s been working for. If you’re a fan of soulful hip hop, smooth instrumentals and creative storytelling, you’re definitely going to love this one! When asked about some of the things that inspire him as an artist, this is what he had to say:

“Just life in general, most of my music talks about life situations. I’m inspired by things that I have experienced, seen and heard others go through. I try to be universal with my music; you really can’t place me in one style of rap. The more people that hear me, the more people will realize who the best is. Also I’m inspired by other great artists, nothing like good competition…sad to say, it’s not much of that”.

Bo Dean is truly a man of few words, only when he steps behind a mic does he have much of anything to say. Download Bovember 2 today and check out his previous projects by following the links below! - Jackson White

"DaVisionaire Interview"

Live interview with Davisionaire blog spot regarding the #MashUp - Mos P

"#MashUp Review"

Mixtapes these days have become like fast food, easily obtainable, they're popping up everywhere and rarely are they worth making a return visit for. It's rare, unless it comes from your favorite artist, that you find a mixtape worth spreading to others but I may have stumbled upon something worth listening to. Bo Dean is a rapper out of St Louis, MO who we've featured on XL before but his latest mixtape is hands down his best piece of work. With the highly acclaimed DJ Smallz & DJ Shurefire backing him up Bo's #MashUp mixtape is definitely worth a listen.

Now I will admit I was apprehensive to really listen and evaluate this mixtape being that Bo is a member of the XL family but I decided to be as impartial as I know how and really give it my honest opinion. And I must say its a must listen for anyone who truly appreciates lyrics or great metaphors. When listening to this tape I advise you to take any pre-conceived notions or rappers you think he may sound like out of your head. Bo truly has a sound of his own and it won't take long before you realize he's got a leg up on most of the up and comers in his lane of hip hop. Now I won't say Bo is the next *insert random hip hop artists you hear too often on the radio* but this mixtape is a definite confirmation that he's going to be a force to be reckoned with when he gets recognition from the masses.

Check out Bo's #MashUp below and make sure you download it and let us know what you think of it in the comments. Be sure to check out the #AarabMuzikMashUp and the #DrumGangMashUp. Two of my personal favorites!

"TriAtomic Album Review"

St. Louis rappers Bo Dean and group The Domino Effect came together to collab on the project “TriAtomic” and just off of the top I can’t recall a St. Louis collaboration of this magnitude since maybe The St. Lunatics back in the day. When I heard about the I was hype. Just going off of Bo’s Mashup and Domino Effects “In Due Time” and most recently their video Berlinetta. The idea of their two styles coming together for this project sounded like an amazing idea and it sure didn’t disappoint.

Fun fact “TriAtomic” means having a valence of 3. A combination of radical, elements or atoms coming together. Which is EXACTLY what this is. Their styles mesh well over 8 dope tracks (I wish there were more) that in my opinion is something that we will look back on this time next year as a stepping stone in the St. Louis music scene. My favorite tracks are “Phuck it”, “B.A.R.S,” and “All Me” Check out those tracks and if you haven’t already listened or downloaded the project do so NOW! - Vonny Bravo

"Bo Dean's #MashUp is 1 of River Front Times Top 50 Albums of 2012"

"River Front Times 2013 Best Emcee In St Louis"

Bo Dean
We all know branding and marketing is important, especially in the rap game, and Bo Dean has done an exceptional job of branding his image. The man is commonly known for or remembered by most of his fans for this Afro. Sure, his hair style is ambitious (and stylish), but he also an incredible wordsmith. His mashup series is a remarkable showcase of skill, as Bo is truly capable of demolishing any track that is placed in front of him. He's a special type of emcee with a once-in-a-lifetime type of talent. His latest mixtape with DJ Smallz is nothing short of a cult classic. His crew members Step or Get Left all carry their own charisma as they contribute an energy that is similar to the early '90s Wu Tang Clan, with a rough, rugged and raw 36 Chambers type of vibe. Bo Dean is one of the most important lyricists we have in the underground scene today. He's not only a talented rapper, but he is also a visionary, a hustler and, to make his story even more rare, a first-year teacher. Imagine this: Your favorite rapper is also a teacher. Google his latest work TriAtomic with Domino Effect; you won't be disappointed. - River Front Times

Bio

The #HashTagKingThat One guy with the Fro#TheMashUpBovember.Dang..smh He killed that
performance.#BOpproved..#thatisall..#carryon..#BoShrugThe Show Me Show You can just call him Bo
Dean though. Since 2010, Bo has been building up his catalogue and fan base by dropping thought provoking
and innovative projects thatll change the color of your mood ring every other tune. In a city full of hungry artist
waiting for their opportunity to shine, Bo has proven that some light should be put on him
(#ItsEnoughLightForEverybodyTho).

After a year of being all the way dedicated to his grind, he was recognized by the Slum Fest commission as one of
the 2011 Freshmen of the Year. His collaborative project Enuff Said with Lz was also nominated for the
Slum Fest Mixtape of the Year. But it was Bovember 2: Music for the Soul that took things to the next level.
The Epitome of Epicness, The true meaning of soul,
(#SiskelAndEbertWouldveGivenIt2thumbsUpBecauseItWasThatGood). Covering on a wide range of topics from
abusive relationships, down low homosexuality, biblical prophecies and overcoming the impossible, Bo was able
to connect with the audience on not just the music but on a personal level as well.

With the help of FLUX9 and his label SOGL (Step Or Get Left), Bo became a
force to be reckoned with in 2012. Dropping stunning visuals to his songs and making power moves with some of the industries heavyweights. One of those
heavyweights in particular was DJ Smallz. In March of 2012, Bo announced that #MashUp would be his next project; hosted by Mr Southern Smoke himself. The concept of this project was unique and challenged Bo to takes his
artistry to new plateaus. He takes a slew of instrumentals from some of the rap industries most honored emcees and mashes them together. The constant switch ups in each song force Bo to switch up his flow, delivery and even
subject matter on each MashUp. From Araabmuzik to Lil Wayne, all the way up to the "Big Homey" Jay Z, Bo Dean transforms commonlyheard songs into his
own, leaving the original versions just not the same. When #MashUp dropped, it became an instant success in his city, countless spots around the nation, all
the way to the UK. It also gained Bo another nomination for Mixtape of the Year at the 2013 SLUM awards (#ItShouldOfWonTho).

As the 2nd half of 2013 approaches, Bo has already opened up for national artist Bone Thugz N Harmony, Twista, DMX,
the Legendary Rakim & Ritz. With countless shows under his belt, in town and out, Bo doesn't plan on stopping
no time soon. He also teamed up with the 2013 SLUM Fest Freshman Of The Year winner's The Domino Effect and released an EP called "TriAtomic" which has been getting great reviews. Bo was also named this years best emcee by the River Front Times.

Besides the music, Bo is a host to one of the freshest and coolest shows on the net, The Show Me Show." Its a live internet radio show that features some of the
Midwest premiere talents. Shedding spotlight on not just music artist but athletes and entrepreneurs as well. The
hosts debate, share their view points on todays popular topics and put together some hilarious segments. Bo is
also a writer at XLUrbanMedia doing a blog series called #BOpproved where he reviews projects that he feels
needs more notoriety is becoming quite popular.

Things are looking up for Mr. Dean, the journey has been rocky but it was worth every minute. With his city and
team behind him, how could he lose? Be expecting even more big things in the future from The Fro. This is only
the beginning#thatisall#carryon
