Bodhisattva is a modern rock ensemble reminiscent of the lyrical and groovy legends such as U2, Nirvana or Radiohead. The poetic musings of song writer Rob Wcislo atop the rock solid sounds and rhythms of the band deliver a musical experience heroic enough to inspire listeners.

Biography

Bodhisattva is a fresh burst of original music energy in the Northeastern music scene. Founded upon a decade of songs written by Rob Wcislo, this new powerhouse delivers a modern rock experience that dabbles in jazz, punk and funk as well as a poetic spirit reminiscent of Jim Morrison, Bono or Sting.

The Bodhisattva rhythm section, composed Steve Kraus on bass, Dave Becker on drums and Frank Kraus on guitar, interwine eclectic rhythms and textures with Wcislo's engaging melodies and lyrics to create an almost tribal event that gets audiences moving and singing along.

In August, Bodhisattva won the BeLeVe Fest Fan's Choice contest held by several of the area's rock radio stations and consequently had their Musikfest performance broadcast live on WMUH and RCN cable television.

In 2003, Bodhisattva won the grand prize in a regional Grammy competition hosted by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Bodhisattva is currently in the studio and expects to complete its 3rd release by the year's end.

I Was Wrong

I Was Wrong
Bodhisattva

I used to think that I could be the one to save the world,
but I was wrong.
I used to be the one but I was wrong.
I used to think that I could get so high it' make me wise
but I was wrong,
But I still put some fire in my songs.

I can walk alone with my fire and my stone.
I won't walk away. I won't get dry. I won't get drained.

I used to think that I would get so rich I'd own the sky,
but I was wrong.
I've got my piece of pie, but I was wrong.
I used to think the ladies would all fall down at my feet,
but I was wrong.
I've tasted what is sweet don't get me wrong.

But now I walk with her with my flowers and my words.
I'll shine everyday under her wild and gentle rays.

(Guitar Solo)

I used to think that I could find the words that told the truth,
but I was wrong.
I tried to tell the truth, but I was wrong.
I used to think the blue up in the sly was God's great eye
but I was wrong.
I used to think he's watching. I was wrong.

But I will still stand tall. Drink it in and do it all.
I have given away my blue heart anyway.
Now I walk with her with my smiles and my thirst.
We'll shine everyday. Moon and sun light our way.

Drive

Drive
Bodhisattva

Send me away. I've been dying too long
For a place to stay without crying.
I'll do nothing but make love to you
Beneath the sky above
Making love and feeling good all the time
So let's drive…

Untie my weight I've been dragging too long.
The smile on your fave says you like it.
Untie me so that I can move
and get deep inside.
Untied inside and feeling good all the time
So let's drive…

So let's drive and feel alive
So let's drive and feel alive
So let's drive and feel alive

I'll do nothing but make love to you
Like the sky above.
Making love and feeling good all the time
So let's drive…

So let's drive and feel alive
So let's drive and feel alive
So let's drive and feel alive

Moonshine

Moonshine
Bodhisattva

I looked into the soul of the world
And the emptiness into which I'd been hurled.
While trying to keep my eyes on the road
like I'd been told.

I tried to open my eyes.
Feel the gladness that's inside.
Tried to understand this life and why time's always behind.
I've got to start again. Make sure everything's in line.
Get my spirit back on fire. Be inspired to inspire.
And feel that moon shine.
Feel it shine.

Feel that moon shine
Feel that moon shine
Denial is alright
Feel that moon shine

I looked around to see what was there.
To see if anybody else cared
That the world just goes along with the flow.
Round and down it goes. Down it goes.

I'll just live along my life.
Maybe take my self a wife
And watch my children sing,
And eat what goodness brings.
Just hide away outside the highway and the ride.
Get my paycheck from the tide and my moonshine.
Feel that moon shine.

Feel that moon shine
Feel that moon shine
Denial is alright
Feel that moon shine

Miracle

Written By: Rob Wcislo

Miracle
Bodhisattva

There's Buddha on my left.
Jesus Christ is on the set.
Jim Morrison on my right,
And no one else is here tonight.

And it's not long before I'm dancing
On the tops of tables in my home.
It's clearly coming now.
And it's not long before I'm laughing
at my self and at the world.
It's clearly coming now.
You're a miracle to find.

So I whisper to the wall,
"Don't be frightened it's only me.
I'm just listening to be sure
We'll be ready for the door."

And it's not long before I'm sharing all I have.
And it's not long before I'm howling at the moon.
It's clearly coming now.
And it's not long before I'm singing
To myself and to the world.
It's clearly coming now.
You're a miracle to find.
You're a miracle to find.

Just Outside

Written By: Rob Wcislo

It's just outside what you're looking for
No one is gonna leave it at your door
Some might say that it's too late
Ignore them they've just sealed their fate

Sit beneath a tree and think of what there is to say
Find yourself just watching children slip away
Put your coat on. Put your pen in your pocket.
Find a key and then unlock it.

Don't wait. The movie screen sky is falling.
The poets and the clouds are calling her.
Its just outside

You wait, so you can do the their time,
For someone else's crime to fall.
It's just outside.

Do you think there's something better for a metaphor?
A butterfly fluttering. The wind became a hurricane.
Beneath the moon we all danced insane.
C'mon sweet highway make me feel the pain.

I don't know for certain anymore
How much this is different from what it was before.
Rainbow trails of gladness lifting all we leave behind.
Tell me finally are you kind?

And d o you think there's something better for a metaphor?
A butterfly fluttering. The wind became a hurricane.
Beneath the moon we all danced insane.
C'mon sweet highway make me feel the pain.
Igniting fires in the pouring rain
We keep on talking but we don't know what we're saying.
Oh sweet Jesus won't you send me on my way?
We've got to find something for the things we can't explain…
