"Bogdan – Live At Chestionabil Joint"

Romanian DJ/Producer Bogdan Anghel recently sent us a cracking edit of Chic’s smash hit ‘I Want Your Love’ and rather than simply publish the track for download we managed to get our hands on a full mix of Bodgan’s edits for you to check out instead. This mix was performed live at Chestionabil Joint before In Flagranti took to the stage. - http://www.cosmicdisco.co.uk/2009/06/16/bogdan-anghel-live-at-chestionabil-joint

"Bogdan edits Chic's I want your love"

So basically what I’m saying is that when another ‘I Want Your Love’ re-edit dropped onto the virtual mat the other week, it quickly sank down the inbox like a rotten whale. Which was stupid of me really as when I actually gave it a listen it was one of the best things I’d heard all week.

Looping that instantly recognisible opening bar our re-editor Bogdan has pulled off a neat trick, keeping it looped under he brings in some tropical drums, a fleck of inspired balearic guitar and before you know it you’re hard pressed to remember it’s a re-edit at all.

In fact the only bit that jars is when the track kicks in properly, the hypnotic opening section is so good I could happily just have seen that bit extended and built upon for a good 5-6 minutes alone. - http://www.sluttyfringe.com/site/2009/06/love-will-keep-us-together/

"Arthur Russell vs Bogdan"

Bogdan, whose Chic re-edit was one of our top summer tracks is back with another blissful cut and paste job, this time turning his attention to the late Arthur Russell’s ‘This Is How We Walk on The Moon’. - http://www.sluttyfringe.com/site/2009/10/leave-on-a-high-note/

"Bogdan – Harmony Within Repetitive Structures"

Playing proper ambient with a harrowing, uneasy edge, Bogdan’s borderline neo-classical compositions are rife with unresolved interludes. It’s a sparse, uncompromising, and ultimately successful attempt to explore the inherent beauty of indeterminacy.

Bio

While producing electronic tracks, basically I pass unchallenged by the sounds I consider relevant to my artistic message and I let myself unbounded in a process of live music manufacture. I never predict, I only receive. It should be easy to get and forget, but important when listening. My message is neither abrupt nor conclusive. I only want people to apprehend the beauty of creation itself, the importance of gaps filling spaces. You might say I prefer cohesion. “Harmony within repetitive structures” is my first important release, a couple of neoclassical minimal and clean tracks I consider worthy of esteem. As for now I follow the trend, I cannot stop, I dub float. I completed my new balearic-dubbed album a few months ago and since then everyday is in fact a small science project. All I want from my work is to express the completeness of glow. That’s why this drifting and vagrant music genre suits me perfectly. For now.
