Bogus Quartet

 Gent, Flanders, BEL

Bogus Quartet is a enw formation of the band Bogus, created by the two brothers Ambroos & Florian De Schepper. They play an attractive mix of folk, world and jazz.

Bogus was started up in 2005 by two brothers : Ambroos and Florian De Schepper (saxophone and guitar). They have already garnered many awards, e.g. the 2008 ‘tremplin du dauphin’ at ‘Het Lindeboom’ festival in the north of France. Two years later they won the national contest ‘Music Live’ organised by Jeugd en Muziek. This prize included a concerts trip to Tanzania. Bogus has been performing for more than five years in various line-ups : as a quartet, a trio, a duo and again as a quartet. The two brothers have recently been joined by percussionist Ludo Stichelmeyer (Embrun, Fortunate Few, …) and string bassist Jonas Scheys (Embrun).

They play an attractive mix of folk and jazz from here and beyond, spiced with their own lavishly improvised compositions.
Relying on a solid set of concerts at Gentse Feesten, Na Fir Bolg, Deerlycke Folk, Folkwoods (NL), in Toulouse (F), Nîmes (F), Wageningen (NL) and Tanzania, this brand new quartet is all set to shake your stage at its very core.
