Bohemian Grove

BandRock

Bohemian Grove's music is meticulous to the core, the music is crafted inside and out, and often results in a sometimes unconventional approach to conventional musical styles. The music crosses several genres tastefully, but in the end commits to the coherent sound that makes the band so unique.

Biography

Bohemian Grove has roots in many different places and people. Founded in early 2008 by Mitch Neubauer and Tim Andres, both combined their diverse but similar backgrounds to compliment each other musically and stylistically. Although still a relatively new band, the music has been influenced by the many contributions of it's many different former and present members. Bohemian Grove started as a trio, had expanded by several members including a sax and keyboard player, then contracting back to it's core which is where it stands today. After a brief hiatus when drummer Tim Andres was forced to move on due to personal circumstances (Nov '08), Bohemian Grove is once again up and running with a new lineup, ready to get back on track with what it started and make 2009 it's year.

Mitch Neubauer: The frontman of Bohemian Grove began playing guitar at the age of 6 as an alternative to learning the banjo that his great uncle gave to him (big fan of Bela Fleck though). The only musical member of his family ... music was, and continues to be his entire life, receiving degrees in jazz performance and classical performance in Minneapolis and Nashville repectively before landing with a thud in Tallahassee. He had discovered his voice in Tallahassee while taking a year off of music to get through the biggest burnout of his life. In early 2008 he began playing out once again, and committed to his music and his own band which has become Bohemian Grove.

Jeff Davis: A vested vet in the Tallahassee scene, Jeff is a native that's played with about everyone and everywhere in North Florida. Jeff just finished up a month long tour of the east coast, and is ready to take on 2009 with Bohemian Grove. Jeff attended the Florida State School of Music, where he received his music education degree with a concentration on classical guitar.

Tim Andres: Tim grew up in Ft Lauderdale Fl, with a natural skill in playing drums. Tim claims to have never had a lesson in his life, but you would never know it from hearing him play. Coming very close to a record deal with a group in South Florida at the age of 15, he has proven over time to be a passionate and reliable drummer that understands music on many different levels, as he is also a guitarist and vocalist.

Lyrics

Creature Habits

Written By: Bohemian Grove

Here I stand .. on the front again/back porch stand again and I feel so lonely I could just crack up and let my self fall.

Once again When the city lights come back in and they drown me. My stream of consciousness won't let me down so I breath in

I don't know, what it was that brought me here, but I'm still standing.

Sweet Jenny puts her lipstick on and the shimmer highlights her face and the crowd groans.
What it was, we don't know, we don't grow but it stays with us.
The sunlight fades, on the treetops riverbed, clear as air stays with us.
Golden kiss bliss memory we can't forget.

I don't know, what it was that brought me here, but I'm still standing.

Shower down on me sweet moment. Show me what you're thinkin', wrap your heart around this time, with each breath you've taken. You, won't know, it's value wasn't clear so wrap your heart around this moment ... don't let it pass you ...

See I do recall a time, when I felt sensation. Was it creature habit or my habits of creation? So many times, many tries do I walk the line or not even try .. to the place, to the taste and I don't remember where I left it.

I don't know, what it was that brought me here. But I'm still standing.

Shower down on me sweet moment, show me what you're thinkin', wrap your heart around this time, with each breath you've taken. You won't know, it's value wasn't clear so wrap your heart around this moment. Don't let it pass you...

Kate's Song

Written By: Mitch Neubauer

My head's been in the clouds. My feet never, ever touched the ground. All the while it sets in, make sure you know just where you stay .. when I'm alone.

I take a look inside myself, forget about the pain I've felt. It soothes my mind just to know, that I have you in my arms. If there's a thing as too much fun, it's with the girl that I love. All the things I can't explain, and I think she feels it too.

Lonely nights we spend away, crazy nights but who's to say? It's four in the morning, and I never want to sleep again. Think about the time we spend, crazy days and nights we dream. Spending time in a world where only we know where we are.

I take a look inside myself, forget about the pain I've felt. It soothes my mind just to know, that I have you in my arms.

Disappearing Coast

Written By: Mitch Neubauer

The rise and the fall of your endless breath so peacefully. And when you think that it should be over, then you open your eyes and there it is.

Listening to the disappearing coast, wonderin' how much of me the current's pulled away. And the sins that I've committed, I've committed, but watch them roll away. All the memories, receding, take the chances, the temperamental reach of freedom.

See the city fulfilling me, but this town's god damned not ... and the waves cross the ocean, as we listen, and we drift away.

Listening to the disappearing coast, wonderin' how much of me the current's pulled away. And the sins that I've committed, I've committed, but watch them roll away.

Walk Away

Written By: Bohemian Grove

Take a look, take a good look at me. You might not get another chance. I should not even have to explain, so turn around and walk away. Turn around and walk away ...

To have you one more time, to have your way. I can see from that look in your eyes ... that it's over.

How does it feel to lose, the only one you've ever loved? And despite what you think you know, I'm not lonely anymore .. I'm not lonely anymore.

To have you one more time, to have your way. I can see from that look in your eyes ... I can see what is real.

You had your way, you had your way. Walk away ... walk away ... turn around and walk away. Turn around, and walk away.

How's It Feel

Written By: Bohemian Grove

Lyin' out on another gloomy day. But I know that tomorrow, I'll feel right at home.

How's the sunshine feel today? The connection I haven't felt now for days.

Now that I am nothing .. nothing to you .. just know that, I can take it, and fuck you too!

How's the sunshine feel today? THe connection I haven't felt now for days. So long I dream that I'm awake. So long I dream with nothing at stake.

When my time comes, just let me know, and I might just quit holding on, and I might let go.
