Bohemian Sunrise

Bohemian Sunrise

Influenced by world rhythms and improvisation, Bohemian Sunrise stretches into Afro-Cuban & Latin traditions. This intriguing combination creates a cross-appeal, cementing their unique place in the jamband world while luring an entirely new audience with the passion of a balmy night in the islands.

Building their success through hard work and consistently winning over audiences at prime shows throughout their career, Bohemian Sunrise has earned the honor of sharing the stage with Rusted Root at Philadelphia’s famous Electric Factory, and playing at Camden’s Tweeter Center with The Other Ones and Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers, and at 'An Incident in the Hills' featuring the String Cheese Incident. Bohemian Sunrise has also gained a following in the clubs opening for headliners including Vince Welnick (The Grateful Dead and The Tubes), The Recipe, Jazz Mandolin Project, Deep Banana Blackout, Peter Prince & Moon Boot Lover, The Bomb Squad, and Vinyl at venues including the Theater of Living Arts (TLA) and the Trocadero in Philadelphia, Conduit, MD's Funk Box and Recher Theater, and the legendary Stone Balloon in Delaware.

Bohemian Sunrise diversifies their schedule by combining opening for national acts in larger venues with headlining venues like the North Star Bar, The Stanhope House and The Fire. To bring in 2003, they sold out their New Year's SleepOver Shindig, one in a series of successful self-produced shows. Unswerving dedication, desire, and taking instruction from established performers, including the Latin world’s Pablo Batista and Elio Villafranka, have helped to cultivate Bohemian Sunrise into the professional, talented force they have worked hard to become.

Bohemian Sunrise has consistently proven their ability and broadened their elemental sound to appeal to both long-standing and new fans. Their talent, creativity, professionalism and understanding of their place in the market continue to support their ambition and elevate their success.

In September 2001, the band independently released their first album, 'Soulstice'. In mid-2003, they released their second album, 'intoxicating', which features tracks recorded live to over 200 fans at Indre Studios. Each track illuminates their musical growth as songwriters in exploration of an array of cultural styles. An Honest Tune voted ‘intoxicating’ a Top Ten CD for 2003, saying, “World Beats and sinewy rhythm and blues blend together to create a parking lot masterpiece.” Merchandising is also an integral part of this band’s business; their list of over 15 items includes tops, stickers, and incense.
