I've been seeing this band name more and more about town lately. I finally got the chance to check out the music of BombsBombsBombs and was pretty impressed by what I found. It's my understanding that the members of the band are pretty young which is surprising considering the polish you'll find in their music.
In a land full of short lived experimental groups, it's refreshing to find someone who strays a bit more towards mainstream.Word is that the band is just now finishing up work on their album. Yay! So if you get a chance to check out BombsBombsBombs, be prepared for some solid indie pop in the vein of Death Cab. - Athens Music Junkie
Heads Up: I want to use this last bit of space to give a hand to new-ish local band Bombs Bombs Bombs. I’ve been able to catch these guys a couple of times over the last few months and am looking forward to seeing them again. The band specializes in pretension-free indie-pop that seems informed more by guitar and piano/singer-songwriter stuff than any indie-college stuff. I dunno, I mean, I know BBB speaks to having influences (Death Cab for Cutie, et al.); I just don’t really hear any of this in the group’s sound. Either way, I’ve really enjoyed its shows, and while it’s obvious BBB is having the occasional growing pain, it’s still been kind of a treat to watch anyway. It took a good bit of effort to track down this elusive new band, but Adam Underwood promises that it won't be like that for long. The group is brand new, with only a handful of shows under its belt, but Bombs Bombs Bombs has been busy. The quirky quartet is currently recording its debut EP, which Underwood describes as sounding like the love child of Spencer Krug and Ben Gibbard. Once that EP comes out in September, it'll be bombs away. - Flagpole

BombsBombsBombs was formed initially for a one time show at a house party. After inquiries kept coming in for when our next show was, there was no choice but to continue the project. Athens had become saturated with artists looking for the next new sound and we found our niche playing what some may deem "more mainstream than your average Athens band."
We began booking shows throughout Athens and were able to make enough to get started on our debut album, Postcards for Madeline. We have now played all throughout Athens, including the 40 Watt club, Caledonia Lounge, and Farm 255.
Our song "Waiting for Sunlight" was selected for the Athfest 2011 Compilation CD which will be available Summer 2011. All proceeds benefit AthFest, Inc. educational programs such as AthFest InSchool, AthFest AfterSchool and Keys for Kids.
Our goal for 2011 is to expand throughout the Southeast getting our hands into the hands of anyone who will listen. We're ready to fight for a chance to do what we love and ready to commit if we're given the chance.
