Bio
Bone is an Australian band formed in Perth in 2007. Now based in Melbourne, it’s members are Jonathan Shub (guitar and vox), Nate Barnett (guitar and vox), Mike Ward (bass guitar) and Sam Reid (drums).
In 2007 Bone played shows in their native town of Perth, initially as a three piece, but often getting recognition and strong support positions with visiting international bands such as Future of the Left, Andrew W K, Die Die Die, Clockcleaner and John Stanier of Battles. Bone carved out their territory, quickly establishing a name for themselves. In 2008 they gained Nate on guitar, allowing more technical and intricate qualities to emerge and soon after moved to Melbourne in early 2009.
Their first EP ‘Pass the Butter’ was released in 2009, although recorded some years before whilst the band was a three piece. Their most recent release ‘Face Prison’ EP 2010, was recorded at Head Gap Studios by Neil Thomason, and is much more indicative of their distinctive sound and evolution from their origins. Bone have just completed a National tour, driving across Australia for three sold out Perth shows, with brother band The Beat Disease as support.
Bone play semi-regularly and are now carving their mark in the marrow of Melbourne’s live music scene.
Bone has supported Future of the Left (UK), Andrew W K (US), Die! Die! Die! (NZ), Clockcleaner (US), John Stanier of Battles (US) including renowned Australian acts My Disco, Sugar Army, Baseball and Pikelet.
