Bio
Bones is the main project of singer/songwriter Annie DeMotta.
The songs are original and unique in that they bring together a salt of the earth sensibility with rebellious rock and roll and tie it all together with serious intensity and energy.
On stage, Bones can quiet a room with only a voice and guitar. These songs can be enjoyed instantly, but their beauty doesn’t fade out with time. Layer upon layer, music fans will grow more fond of recorded songs and performances alike.
On the EP to be released in spring 2008, a handful of songs tell stories of American travel, heartbreak, war, philosophy, betrayal, beauty of nature and dark dreams.
Bones is influenced by classic music and new artists alike from Patti Smith to Bright eyes and to name a few more: Elliot Smith, Leonard Cohen, Ani Difranco, Woody Guthrie, Ween, David Bowie, Billie Holiday and REM.
Annie's songwriting is also inspired by literature, history, philosophy, travel, art and nature.
