"Bones"

"Bones is delta blues with a punk attitude and a bit of stripper jazz thrown in for fun." - OffBeat Magazine

"Get Bones!"

I’ve never found a cd so easy to review. I recognized the sound right away. If you enjoy the music of such acts as the Rev. Horton Heat or Southern Culture on the Skids, stop reading this review and get a copy of this disc. You will like it. - Lagniappe – April 15, 2004 – vol. 22, no. 8

Bio

Straight out of the slums of Louisiana comes Bones. Full of self confidence, Bones mixes hard core delta blues with the attitude of punk, with a splash of stripper jazz for color.
The band began 4 years ago, when Michael Miller (upright/electric bass, vox) wrote "some weird songs" and sang them to his new neighbor, Scott Campbell. "I was drunk, and just did it, to see his reaction." Scott loved the songs, and Bones was gigging in a few months. Miller, writes songs, lyrical and frank, about down and out people, sex, and the devil. "I have a 16-years-old's fascination with words" Miller says of his sometimes shocking lyrics. "I'm interested in saying something and getting your attention and playing with it. It's designed to make you crack a smile."
Scott Campbell (drums and synth bass) is the engineer, and graphic designer for the band. "We have this look we are going for, part disgruntled office worker, part Edward Gorey." The new EP, "Disconnected" was recorded with famed engineer Fred Weaver of Apocalypse the Apocalypse Studios. "Fred has the best collection of microphones and this old 2 inch tape machine that was modern in Muddy Water's time, it was just what we were looking for." says Miller, "We then had the record mastered by the legendary Dave Gardner. (SST Records) Bones plans on extensive touring with this album, on both the east and west coasts
