Two of Zimbabwe’s hottest young performing groups will arrive in the US in March, 2011. Outspoken—one of the country's most cutting-edge spoken word poets— and international touring band, Bongo Love – Zimbabwean Afro-coustics-style at its best -- will soon take the stage together to launch their joint “Speak ZimLove Tour ” USA tour. Leading Zimbabwean “Afro-coustics” band, Bongo Love, climbed rapidly in popularity, as they were invited to teach and perform in Mozambique, Sweden and the Dominican Republic, leading to their first major tour of the United States in 2007. During the tour they taught and performed in Seattle, Santa Fe, Boulder, Boston and New York, joining indie band 'Dispatch' for three sold out shows at Madison Square Garden. They also toured with State Radio in 2008, and toured extensively across the USA in 2009.

Bongo Love, was formed in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe by drummer, vocalist, and composer, John Mambira. The quartet, comprised of John on vocals and drums, Trymore on mbira, Mpho on baritone marimba, and James on guitar, delivers a unique combination of styles on their traditional instruments with lyrics in English, Shona and Ndebele. Since moving to Harare from Bulawayo in 2005, the fabulous quad has gone from playing mostly private functions to performing in popular clubs in Zimbabwe's capital, putting on a stellar show every time and winning over countless audiences, both in Zimbabwe and across the world.

Bongo Love released their first album, Afrocoustics, in 2007 and their second album, Rwendo (“Journey”) in 2008. Their upcoming album, “Future Voices,” will be released in Zimbabwe and the U.S.A. in 2011.
