Bio

From the time Bonnie Whitmore picked up a bass at age 8 to join the family band until she got her first professional gig at age 15, Bonnie was destined to be a performer. She has honed her musical skills playing bass and cello in her own and various bands and accompanies herself most often with a vintage war period Gibson guitar that seems to channel her timeless sound. The influences in her style range from Tom Petty to Burrito Brothers to Wille, but Bonnie claims her opera singer mother, Martha and her singer/songwriter dad, Alex both for being most influential to developing her signature sound.

Her newest album Embers to Ashes is a self proclaimed independence piece. Produced by Chris Masterson (Son Volt and Jack Ingram), whose impeccable ears and artistic talent creates an album with a throwback sound but with modern taste. Other well known musicians sited on this album include Eleanor Whitmore, fiddle and vocals, Rich Hinman on pedal steel, George Reiff on bass, and Falcon Valdez on drums. The Texas influence is definitely in there, but the heart and soul in the voice and lyrics echoes ‘Carmen’ and the starlets of the 40’s.
