BONZ was born September 11, 1983 in Hartsville, South Carolina. Surrounded by music all of his young life, he began singing at the tender age of 3 with his family in church. Inspired by music and his gift of singing, at the age of eleven, he and two of his friends decided to form their own R & B group, Perfect Attractions. The group performed locally throughout the city until Bonz graduated high school. While attending college in Denmark, S.C, a friend, S. Trap, invited Bonz to move to Atlanta, GA to advance his career in music. Bonz invited former member of Perfect Attractions and the three formed a group, Triple Platinum.

Shortly after arriving in Atlanta, Bonz was discovered and signed to SBG Entertainment in College Park, GA. When things didn’t progress, Bonz moved on and was introduced to Keith Sweat. In 2001, BONZ was featured on 2 songs on Keith Sweat’s album; one entitled”Don’t have me”, which also featured Dave Hollister.
