"BonZai McPherson Band Review at IQ's Food, Music and Art in Green Bay, Wisconsin"

From the second Bon Zai McPherson hit a note I was an instant fan, I got this impression just off the tone alone. Bon Zai McPherson is an alternative independent rock band that writes songs that are: identifiable, riffy, working class, and in a stretch can be harmonic then dischord. It's not that this band is so out of this world and adverse that I lack giving them a proper description. On the contrary, BMP is a trip! From the moment Jerry starts playing Hamer guitar and Andy starts running the bass lines and Chris starts ripping into his drum set you can get a sense of all the hard work or hard fun, that goes into the rhythm and structure of their 90% percent original set. - Green Bay Night Life

Bio

BonZai McPherson is an American rock band based in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Formed in 2005, the current line-up includes drummer Chris Schoenecker, bassist Andy Cismoski, keyboardist Tom Clay, guitarist John Steuk, and, singer/songwriter and guitarist, Jerome Carstens.

You can hear some of Jerome’s songs on A&E Biography and Lifetime Movie Network, if you listen real hard.

All members of the band were associated with each other through numerous local bands that were playing at a neighborhood bar called IQs. Known primarily for its musical embrace of local acts, as well as the occasional national touring act, IQ’s was the catalyst where the band members found appreciation for each other, and a strong yearning to play original music. This developed and finally culminated into what has now become a popular original band in a market saturated with cover bands. BonZai has entertained and united diverse crowds between Illinois and Wisconsin. Playing their own music at various clubs and small festivals to fans ranging in musical tastes from dead heads to blue collar hard rockers and country fans as well, BonZai always brings down the house and can entertain for hours at a time. In short, BonZai McPherson is quite simply a real band playing real music. Now, just about anybody can dig that.
