Boog

Boog

BandRockAlternative

Four-piece London/Oxford band, playing indie rock by turns glammy, proggy, jazzy. All original tunes, lots of hooks, interesting lyrics. Influences include Pink Floyd, Ben Folds, Nick Cave. Love playing live, with varied, well-paced sets.

Biography

From deranged carnival waltzes to extended space funk pop ditties via Yiddish sounding orchestral rants about an ex-girlfriend, Boog is an Oxford/London based four-piece outfit aiming to find a niche between lofty musical ambition and enjoyable pop, with songs covering all the great topics: robotic girls, subterranean taverns, space travel, religion, public transport, existential vestibules, and good old fashioned love.

The band can oftentimes be spotted parading its merry dance around the dancehalls and saloons of London Town, Oxford and Southend.

Since 2005 we have played many successful gigs, at venues including Islington's "O2 Academy", Camden's "Dublin Castle", the "Hope & Anchor", Oxford's "Jericho Tavern" and "Cellar".

What sets us apart from other bands? Well, there are SOME bands out there writing good tunes, but they are few and far between. Many bands can play well and do the tight thing, but we think it's just as important to give an audience a great mix of memorable songs. Let us play for you and we'll convince you to have us back.
