Keelo’s tremendously, successful underground rap career spans across 5 years. The Scarborough native and former High School basketball star, began his professional music career in 2005 where he spent years recording and performing across Canada & the USA. He released his first indie album, Fortunes of the Fearless, which had 3 singles charting in Canada “Here Ya Go”, “Last Call” (Best Hip Hop Song T.I.M.A.) and “Somebody Snitched”. His second independent release was the EP “The Perfect Drug” which featured “Freakquently”, and the remix which were both produced by Canada’s premier Producer Matthew “Boi 1DA” Samuels, and “No Stoppin” featuring the talented Melanie Durrant. Not being adjusted to the “industry life”, Keelo took some time off to perfect his craft and spend time with friends & family.
Spring 2011 Keelo returned with the release his mixtape “Back from The MotherShip and his highly anticipated EP “Grammer Skool.” The EP is available on ITunes and other digital distributors’ world wide through Ice Cold Recordings. “Grammer Skool” features “Fly Like Papah” produced by Keelo which hit #1 in Buffalo New York Keelo’s new single “On Some Otha Ish” Prod by P.O.T. has been featured on “Thisis50.com” Indie Fridays and DJ Drama’s 3rd Infantry Mixtape. “I’m ILL” Prod by Tom Davids Productions made top 10 in Buffalo New York. He also released “Back from the Mothership” hosted by GoGoAlou and featured the single “I Don’t Give a”. Keelo is currently finalizing his new mixtape “Bad Influence” hosted by Shadyville/GUNIT very own DJ Young Cee.
Keelo recently signed a marketing deal with The Burnitdown Group LLC. The Burnitdown Group is the independent marketing arm for Shady Records. In conjunction with Black & Blue Signature Marketing, they plan to manage Keelo's marketing and public relations strategy, overseeing the development and growth of his brand.
As an artist, Keelo refuses to confine himself to one specific type of music: "I want to be a versatile artist, I want to fuse all of my favorite genres together throughout my career. Fans now refer to him as the format less rapper stating Keelo has the perfect balance of mainstream and underground hip hop. KeeLo has performed at all major venues in the Greater Toronto Area (Metro East Convention Centre, Rogers Centre, Importfest ’05,’06 ‘07, the summer edition 2008 at Downsview Park and September 2008, 2009 2010 and 2011, he performed at the 10 year anniversary for Importfest making it the longest running car show in Canada ,Molson Indy, CNE, Nathan Phillips Square) and surrounding areas and clubs in the Greater Toronto Area and throughout Southern Ontario as well as traveling across Canada to British Columbia to perform at Summer Jam (Opened for KOS, Montell Jordan, Fat Joe, Kardinal Offishall etc), IDJ's Award and Trade Show Conference in Atlanta, few open mics in the New York Area. He has also opened for Juelz Santana, Chamillionaire, Rich Boy, Choppa, Choclair, Belly, and has headlined his own tour across Southern Ontario. KeeLo has only scratched the surface of a significant future in the music industry. The best is yet to come. As Keelo himself said, “I’m just a simple guy that’s trying to get my music to the world”, he’s a lot more than that. He’s a talented musician, producer, and an amazing performer who’s music speaks for itself . Keelo has been impressing audiences since the start of his career he has gained top 10 and consistent radio play on all 9 singles he has released from various EP’s, Albums and Mixtapes since the beginning of his career.
