"OPERA HOUSE SHOW COMPLIMENT"

"Even though I was in the front foyer, I heard your set at the Opera House, and I'm not saying this to be nice -- I really thought you guys were one of the best. So I would love to have you back! "
- Sarah Ng, Supernova Entertainment Inc.

"OPERA HOUSE SHOW REVIEW"

Well it was another wild and crazy night at the Opera House, with lots of bands and people.

BOOM followed S.L.S. by basically walking (running?) from their cars to the stage. Thank God our shows are an evening affair, otherwise I wouldn’t come anywhere near a stage with these guys (lol). These guys rock with the best of them, and we thank them for braving the horrible Toronto gridlock, coming all the way from St. Catharines.

"BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMMENT"

Hey, thanks for the entertainment. You guys were the highlight of the
night... you had my vote.

I'll check out the website soon.

"INSANE SONG REVIEWS FROM GARAGEBAND.COM"

Nod your head music :-)
took a little bit too long to get going at the beginning, once it all came in had a cool groove, had my head rocking. I would have to say i thought the vocals were very old school in style, I’m not sure of the influences of this band but i would think it would be very old rock. actually listening to it some more i like more, not to say i don't think the singer has a good voice he obviously does just maybe a bit old in style. really cool groove to this! ok ok ok now I actually really like this song....i review music while I’m listening to it....this is really a grower. England, Durham, United Kingdom

Head ....
The singer would have been good back in the 80's once again a 80's band but understand to advance in life is to learn from our mistakes and 80's music is one of the biggest not a bad singer just stuck in a time warp. Mood in 80's and sound is so so. Nothing I would ever listen to. (From Iowa USA)

Excellent
Cool song, I like the on and off stuff going on during the verse, and the vocals are extremely powerful, you've got some pipes on you man. The vocals mixed with song are an interesting blend, very cool!! It's like mature 80's mixed with modern rock. Great stuff. Fayetteville, Arkansas USA

Just not new.
Interesting mood. I like the chorus. Kinda' dull song all around though. The sound is alright. It's growin on me. Reminds me of a slowed down Iron Maiden (early years). It's got strong points but too 80's sounding for me. I give it a 3 for what it is. Brockton, Massachusetts

pretty tight
pretty cool guitar riff... could be made a bit more interesting though... i think your singer could be better... its not bad,.. just think he could get a lot better.. Vallentuna, Stockholm, Sweden

Sounds like Savatage?
With having the vocal angst of Savatage and the guitar, bass, drum stigato also the song is alright. But having that style there may be a small group of Rockers that would buy it nowadays. The performance was great. The vocals Have that gothic feel. The hook almost absent. It could be placed in theatrical war setting. Good luck Moses Lake, Washington

GREAT SONG..... GUITARS ARE GOOD THE BEAT IS GOOD AND I THINK THE BAND HAS A GOOD SENSE OF TIGHTNESS ABOUT THEM. ALL BANDS NEED TO BE HERD NO MATTER HOW THEY SOUND. KEEP ROCKIN AND NEVER PUT IT DOWN THE SKY IS THE LIMIT WHY STOP THERE. YOU CAN ONNLY MAKE IT AS FAR AS YOU WILL LET YOURSELF GO. THAT'S ALL I GOT TO SAY. GOOD LUCK GUYS. PEACE REESE Pine Mountain, Georgia

kiss
intro reminded me of KISS. the sound quality isn't that great, but that can be partly due to real player. was this a home recording? singer has nice tone to his voice. pretty good song. Arkansas USA

Wow...
Interesting music at the beginning of the song, when the verse kicks in it sounds like something CKY would do, not the vocals though. The vocals are like a sedated Tom Araya, they carry the song well though, and he's certainly got some iron lungs...phew...good god almighty that's voice. The mood is a little confusing, not quite sure what you're going for but it comes across. Arkansas USA

Grim Reaper or WASP is back.
Not sure if I like the vocal progression in the verse, but this guy can sing! I appreciate killer vocals. Hat's off on the hook and the chorus but throw a little more of your talent into the main verse. Just my opinion. This song does rock. Keep belting them out. New York

review
Well it was a rock song. Very different sounding, as far as the vocal lines. The rif from the guitars seemed to be the same without much changes. The solo was ok. The hook wasn’t really much of a hook to be had from my opinion. I think i would try a new style of vocals though. You might go a little farther. Good luck
Washington USA

Rocking song.
Not sure what kind of mood this projects, but the groove is nice. The melody is pretty good, too. I liked this song. Boston, Massachusetts USA

cool riff
very cool intro. nice riff. vocals sound like Queensryche or Dio. Production is pretty good for this song but could use some additional mixing. This song sounds like it was from the 80's...not necessarily a bad thing. Once again, I like the main riff. I like it when you stop everything and then come back in with the main riff.

punch it up
i would like to see some good production behind this punch it up a little but all in all a good strong piece of music keep up the good work thanks T. Detroit Michigan USA
Extra Credit: Male Vocals.

Very 80's
The whole thing bleeds 80's I’m not really a huge fan but, your production was good and the idea is nice.
Lewiston Maine USA

Ok
Music was very tight, but vocals came through as something right out of the 80's. Though the vocals were excellent. Plainsborough New Jersey USA

An image consultant maybe... or some decent clothes. You don't have to look like "Shout At The Devil" era Motley Crue and get glammed out with makeup and shit, but it would be nice to remember something about the band along with the music. Image counts to a lot of people, for better or worse. You say that the live show looks like something that hasn't been seen in years, but you guys look like people I see every day, who I forget about the moment after I see them. I'd look at that picture and think of the fat kid in high school who picked his nose and ate his boogers when I see the 4th guy from the left. The first one looks like he wants to play Magic Cards or Dungeons & Dragons. And the last guy on the right looks like a poorly-dressed salesman, not a "rockstar". Get some type of image, because you look boring. If you want to "explode" on the music scene, have somewhat of a look like it. When somebody pulls your finger, blow them across the room! Don't just have a little "toot". But what do I know? I'm not in a band, but just saying it from a fan's perspective.

"REVIEW OF ROCK THE BORDER (BUFFALO USA) - special mention"

Obviously, with 4 stages running simultaneously, to comment on each band would be impossible unless we had CNN there: “Wolf Blitzer reporting live from the indoor headlining stage; back to you Connie.” Speaking of media, they were out in full force. The local affiliates (channels 2, 4, and 7) from NBC, ABC, and CBS all came out, as well as the Buffalo News, americanfalls.net, and the Niagara Gazette.

Solid performances abounded, with many bands meeting other bands and discussing just which was the best record from A Flock Of Seagulls. Unstable, Floozie, Jimmy Siv and The Runabouts, BOOM (pictured below), and Phatstick (pictured) seemed to be the crowd-pleasers as Unstable got to play two sets thanks to a tardy appearance from Klear. But all the bands impressed the respective audiences they played to.

Bio

BOOM originally formed under the name Den Of Thieves before being most known as Morningwood, opening for major headliners and playing across Canada and into the US.

Formed in 2000, these rockers haven't stopped. BOOM is a different breed because of their catchy original songs and an energetic live show. The band have been turning heads and getting attention from a growing fan base.

BOOM is a tight knit family which consist of the same members in the band since the beginning. Our influences range from metal favourites Iron Maiden and Judas Priest to the progressive rock of Dream Theater.

BOOM's main focus is that of their original music that mixes progressive metal with hook laden choruses. Going to a BOOM show, you are bound to leave wanting more. A full length release is in the works for 2008.

BOOM also plays full night shows that cover classic rock favourites from the 70's and 80's. Artists that the band covers are the likes of AC/DC, Journey, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.
