"Crunk In Public!"

The latest EP, Crunk In Public, from the electro-hop duo Boomjuice is going to be a mainstay in my car stereo this Spring. This is the second release from Vapor Eyes and Capriquarius, and it finds them delving deep in the electronic and dance elements of their sound. Both of the duo’s releases can be downloaded for free. This new EP features collaborations with Keith Masters, Me Myself & Rhyme, and Ellen Loves Everything. It also features an interesting Radiohead cover, and as free download is absolutely worth getting. - The Chicago Deli Magazine

"Sleep Less, Dance More"

Chicago based duo BOOMJUICE certainly took us by surprise when listening to their debut album "Sleep Less In Chicago." An excellent and well thought out culmination of electronic, hip-hop and pop elements complete with soul singer meets Incubus style vocals make these guys a standout stylistically above many around town. Vapor Eyes & Capriquarius really nailed the mark when it comes to leaving the listener with incredibly catchy and original songs that make us want to dance and think at the same time. - Feedback Magazine

Bio

The Chicago music scene won the great cosmic crapshoot several years ago when producer Vapor Eyes & singer/songwriter Capriquarius found themselves repeatedly bumping into one another during a series of 'far-too-far-out-to-be-coincidence' type of encounters.

Initially, the two met by chance at the Vans Warped Tour in 2004. Again, several years later, Vapor and CQ were reunited after they ended up working day jobs within the same office building. Between the two guys talk quickly turned to music, and the rest was history soon to be written; a history which has a genuine chance to comprise an entirely unique and revitalizing chapter in Chicago’s historically thriving music scene.

The undeniable musical chemistry produced by BOOMJUICE, whether on recording or onstage, has its origins in the recording process of Vapor's earlier solo record, Earthrising. Following its release, the tandem that would go on to become BOOMJUICE immediately barricaded themselves in Vapor’s Lab 401 studio and got to work. They did not emerge until they’d sufficiently channeled the proper inspiration and necessary to produce both a formula-defying and potentially genre-defining effort. Those sessions resulted in their debut full-length, an 11 track album entitled SLEEP LESS IN CHICAGO.

The album draws from a palette of 90’s influenced urban and electronic elements, yet possesses sonic features one can quickly identify as the sound of BOOMJUICE. Taking inspiration from the likes of Esthero, Dr. Dre and some of their other favorite artists, the duo have created a unique and infectious piece of art that lands distinctly upon the musical map. Their synth-laden and beat-heavy backdrops form a canvas which perfectly supports both the memorable and soulful vocals sung by Capriquarius, alongside the spoken word and raps delivered by Vapor Eyes.

BOOMJUICE’s ‘electrosoul’ sound is becoming a fixture at various venues throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond as the duo have already shared stages with Digable Planets, Psalm One, Vyle, Gemini Club and are lined up to perform alongside Cage (Def Jux) this summer! SLEEP LESS IN CHICAGO is a prime example of the rarest of strains to be found amongst much of the new music available today. SLEEP LESS IN CHICAGO, was mixed and mastered by Dan Precision (Rise Against, 88 Fingers Louie) and is available now on CD and in various digital retail outlets.

After releasing Sleep Less In Chicago to rave reviews, BOOMJUICE have kept pace by dropping the 'Runway Jam' single backed with remixes by UK chill-house hero Rory Hoy and Chicago dubstepper Jeekoos. Moving into 2010, Vapor Eyes & CQ released their new Crunk In Public EP containing six brand new songs and continue to work on new material in the studio. Keep an eye out for the duo on stages in 2010 when they take their electrosoul sound on the road.

Prepare for the BOOM.
