Bootleg Audio hails from Gainesville, Georgia. Bootleg Audio is super modern rock…tough young guys, but with the chops to back it up. You can hear their take on life – without screaming, thank you very much – in songs like, “Break You Down”. I have listened to a few songs and I’m curious what they sound like when they’re not dialed up to 10 on the angry dial. "Phoenix" EP released late 2006 has received much acclaim with it's listeners with airplay on local radio station, Project 96.1, as well as having one track entitled "Break You Down" featured in an independent student film titled "Caution Sign".

Bootleg Audio was formed in 2001 with Dru, Mr. Jones, Moose, Jay Gilling, and Jonathan Sanders in the original lineup. Playing small gigs and talent shows, they began to develop their Rock and Roll style. In early 2004, Jay Gilling was replaced by drummer Rocky Mealor. After establishing themselves as a local Rock and Roll benchmark, Bootleg Audio headed into the studio in May of 2006 to record their debut EP entitled "Phoenix". Shortly after completion of the album, Rocky was forced to leave the band due to personal reasons.
Bootleg Audio quickly held open auditions for a new drummer. To much surprise, Dru's personal friend and co-worker turned up. Current drummer Chris Stone proved to be a seasoned musician with years of experience under his belt. Even Chris' lineage has over three generations of ROCK pulsing through it. His grandfather has played the bass for over 50 years, his father plays drums for one of the most well known corporate cover bands in Atlanta, and Chris has been soaking up all of the knowledge since he was old enough to swing a drumstick. And when I say swing, you better damn believe it! Chris' stature, and natural Rock and Roll attitude makes watching this 6' 5" monster of Rock play, a total thrill. The compassion and attack that Chris has naturally enveloped when playing, has an intensity comparable to Tommy Lee, Vinnie Paul, and Peter Criss fighting over a drum kit. Yes. It is Stone on the Throne.
But it seems misery loves company, and sadly, in early 2007 another vital member of the Bootleg family, Jonathan Sanders, chose to bow out of the Rock and Roll race.
At this point, Bootleg Audio had no time to waste. With a successful debut EP released and on the airwaves, and gigs lining up, people were demanding Rock and Roll. And they wanted their Bootleg.
Bootleg Audio once again held open auditions, but this time for a lead guitarist. With the odds stacked against them to find and replace such a key piece of a Rock and Roll band, Bootleg Audio did not flinch in the face of uncertainty, but rather took the obstacle head on and with full force. This mentality seemed to make all the difference. Bootleg only had to audition about three guitarists before they found their man.
Ritchie Brixton made the call in response to a classified add for a lead guitar player position in a Rock and Roll outfit from Atlanta. He spent a few years in Hollywood playing with various bands and developing his chops for Rock and Roll. He credits the likes of Jimi Hendrix to Tommy Bolin. Ritchie and Dru chewed the fat over the phone for a couple days and then got down to the real ROCK. After a few auditions with the band, Ritchie took the slot as the lead guitarist for Bootleg Audio.
