"Review in Le Cri Du Coyote"

Original French Publication - English Translation as follows....

Rockabilly / rock'n'roll / hillbilly bop singer / guitarist Bo Porter started playing the guitar at 6 and, one year later he was touring with his father Reid Porter and his bluegrass group. Next he was a regular on The Panhandle Opry in Florida and formed his owncountry rock band. In 1997, he quit music for a while, moving to Alaska with his wife and daughter.
But he kept on writing songs and has just formed the Dixie Rockits to deliver this brilliant CD, comprising of an accurate choice of covers, among which an unexpected version of Walking The Floor done rockabilly and a Love Sick Blues more hicupped than the original, and three excellent self-penned numbers, the rockabilly Bite Your Tongue, the 50's medium Are You Lonely Little Girl ans the 50's slow Need Me. No dull track out of 13, we ask for more!

Did I mention it was "CRI DU COYOTE"? (the highest rate in reviews in the mag) - Le Cri Du coyote

Bo Porter Biography

Bo Porter has been playing the guitar and entertaining him self and others since the age of 6. With genuine musical heritage and steeped in classic country traditions Bo has found a permanent place here in Austin, TX. An authentic style all his own Bo sets a vocal standard we haven't seen in years.
After arriving in town late January 2007 Bo began booking himself as a solo act around the Lake Travis area, but it wasn’t long before he had landed a gig for a Trio consisting of a stand up bass / rhythm guitar & vocals / electric guitar. Hi's strong baritone voice has compared with Marty Robbins, Faron Young, Merle Haggard, & even Johnny Cash.
Bo's unique take on music deranges traditional hits and makes them his own. A little Classic Country, a bit of Blues, some Rock n’ Roll, and a lot of heart and soul is what Bo Porter delivers. Bo includes the audience in his performances, which keeps them coming back. His comedic sensibility, and audience communication endears him to the audiences as well as the club owners. The Bo Porter show is a must see.
