All The Ups the debut release from Portland’s Bordertown is full of grit, fire and promise with a sound that is one part Screaming Trees and one part ZZ Top.
The five piece band is lead by Jason Meredith, whose lonesome blue vocals, and wailing harp guides the energetic time shifting grooves laid down by drummer Tony Lintz, bassist Jason Applegate. While lead guitarist Todd Farmer plays the foil on lead guitar with knee deep riffs, and fuzzed up leads reminiscent of Jack White and The Black Keys. The bands sites Muddy and Hooker as a part of their influences, but their northwest roots also show through as this is no doubt blues for the twenty first century. The rockin’ “Inclement Weather,” is like a Pearl Jam /Blues Traveler mash up, and “Paralyzed,” is from a Hunter S Thompson acid trip soundtrack. Album closer “Can’t Breathe,” has the classic feel of Tex-Mex soul stew.
The eight strong tracks on ALL The Ups, show that Bordertown is a band who is not afraid to push the blues forward to new horizons, which is what it sorely needs.

Bio
Formed in 2011 to create a unique, hybrid style of fun, upbeat, soulful music that incorporates modern alternative rock with flavors of roots blues and bluegrass. In 2012 Bordertown released "All The Up's" and the band toured regionally. KINK Radio in Portland, OR featured the band on Sunday Night Blues show. Bordertown was also included in the Home Grown Music CD 6 release.
March 2014 Bordertown will be releasing "Batten Down EP" and has become a force to be reckoned with in the northwest blues scene. The new songs show a tighter more dynamic band that capture the listener and keep them on the edge of their seat with creative changes, beat drops and unexpected grooves.
