"Radar"

Straight-laced rock'n'roll with a melodic kick. Borndays are one of the finer live acts doing the rounds across Dublin. - NME UK

"What's On"

'...Their proficiency in the studio translates to their live sets by using melodies, innovative instrumentation and a vivacious demeanor they are quickly being recognised as one of the most promising acts to have emerged from Dublin' - Hotpress

"The Inside Track"

'...the live following is growing steadily. Watch this space...' - Hotpress

"In Dublin "To The Manner Born""

"TO THE MANNER BORN"

"In a world where everything is electro-funk-pop something or other, and every singer boasts a faux regional accent, Borndays are offering something refreshingly steadfast - good music.

Two years ago, Borndays (nee Aaron Smyth and The Borndays) were tipped by many musos as ones to watch. The Dublin four-piece were creating a blend of atmospheric and confident guitar-driven rock that drew good reviews, great word of mouth and established them as regulars on the Dublin live scene.

Although they never really went away, a rebirth of sorts has occurred. Tighter, louder, catchier and more focused than ever before, the Borndays bandwagon is gathering momentum and fans at an impressive rate.

Listening to songs like Turn It Off and Miracle on Phantom 105.2 fm, you just know they would sound great live - urgent riffs, rhythmic refrains and Smyth's soaring vocals reverberate in your eardrum and get stuck in your head. Indie popsters with English accents, skinny jeans and asymmetric hair dos may dominate the charts, but, as recent reviews have proved, live sets by the likes of The Klaxons and The Automatic leave a lot to be desired.

Borndays, with their blend of melodic, studied rock and crafty pop, are here to fulfil your craving for melt-in-your-mouth rock that makes you move, makes you think and makes you want to hear more."

"In Dublin "The Hi-5""

"The Dublin music scene has gone from being a glum, singer-songwriter slewn abyss to one of the most exciting and thriving spots in Europe. We profile five homegrown bands that are rocking their socks off to get your attention...

THE BAND: Borndays
THE SOUND: Easy-on-the-ear rock and pop.
THE BUZZ: Borndays have been in and round the live Dublin circuit for some time now, and their experience has paid dividends - their rock sound is fully fleshed out, without being overly complicated, and they are not afraid of simple, catchy melodies. They are producing the kind of music that could take over the smallest venue or the biggest stage - there is an urgency to their tracks, a readiness in Smyth's vocals, which hints that bigger things cannot be far off.
MYSPACE: Borndays
MOST PLAYED: Miracle ("Come away from the light, it will turn you blind, come away from the TV, it will tell you lies, put down your books and your pens, shut down your minds, we need a miracle"

"Metro"

"Relentless gigging, has seen Borndays build a respectable live following. Supporting heavily touted Canadians Besnard Lakes at Whelan's recently, they almost blew the headliners off the stage."

Bio

BORNDAYS

Having all played previously in various bands the quartet of Aaron
Smyth, Ian Clarke, Tony Crowley and Dennis Cassidy finally came
together in early 2005. Most of the last 18 months has been spent
perfecting sound and live performances. This did not go to waste. Live
sets have gotten harder, better, faster, stronger. On stage, energy
and passion is everything.

Without depending on advertising or mailshots Borndays opted instead
to allow things to grow by word of mouth. Releasing an EP "White on
White". This resulted in a number of gigs in the UK,a show at the
prestigious Fringe Festival last year all the while picking up some
critical accliam from NME UK along the way........

2007 has seen the bands reputation grow larger with the surfacing of
the Miracle & Closer demo's, causing quite a stir underground amongst
fans, musos, men in suits and cris crossing on radio waves........

The Autumn will see Borndays release the first single from their
upcoming debut album, as yet to be titled
