"Born From Ruins News"

"Born From Ruins is going 'BIG', literally. The Clear Lake local band is releasing their 1st music video straight to the Silver Screen. Pushing forward and not looking back, seems to be the driving force behind BFR as they put together something never seen in the area. Sunday, Feb 10th the band is hosting an 'Invite Only' premiere for their new video 'Save Me'. The event has a limited amount of open seats left if you are interested in attending this 'Red Carpet/Black Tie Affair', the band is accepting donations going directly towards completion of their upcoming album 'The Aftermath'." - The SCENE Magazine

"Born From Ruins"

"Born From Ruins are hard-working metalheads, and they’re damn proud of it. Their sound continues to get tighter as they develop all facets of their music: Front man Blake Ortiz’s vocal prowess, backed admirably by heavy percussion, solid bass (including a solo here and there) and one hell of a lead guitar. One member recently became a father, and another is moving to Denton to go to school, but they plan to continue playing shows, writing and recording music, and we suggest you keep an eye on them." - Houston Press

"Pulse Magazine – August-September 2011 Edition"

"Bay Area Houston based band, Born From Ruins, hit the live music scene running in 2009 and never looked back. They have steadily gained momentum and support and taken advantage of every opportunity and resource along the way. Two and half years later the team of Frontman, Blake Ortiz; Guitarist, Josh Jenkins; Bassist, Dave Van Orstrand and Drummer, Chris Fudala have matured as musicians, as individuals and as a band.
Their approach is methodical yet simple – a creative process that entails a lot of hard work, dedication, and practice. The tremendous support that they have received from family, friends, fellow musicians and a rapidly growing fan base has catapulted the young band through the first stages of success. The pace at which they have grown in exposure and popularity is almost unprecedented – and at the very least uncommon in the local rock music arena." - Pulse Magazine

"Pulse Magazine – Live Music Review February 25, 2011"

"Born From Ruins tore up Houston’s Hard Rock Café Thursday night with a career performance at The Ambassadors of Rock Battle of the Bands. Their hard work is evident as they continue to develop in all aspects of their music – especially the progression in vocal range of front man, Blake Ortiz. Drummer, Chris Fudala delivered a high energy performance as well while Dave Van Orstrand engaged the crowd more than ever with an intense bass solo, and Josh Jenkins just plain rocked on the guitar." - Pulse Magazine

"Pulse Magazine – August 2010 Edition"

"It takes more than energy, talent, and patience to make it in a rock ‘n roll band and some may say it’s something you’re born with. Houston-based band, Born From Ruins, exemplifies each of the golden characteristics that a band requires to thrive in today’s highly competitive music industry." - Pulse Magazine

Born From Ruins is an Aggressive Hard Rock band out of Houston, TX. We all came together randomly with one thing in common, we wanted to play music! With over 50 years of combined music experience (all of us in our mid-late twenties) BFR came together in Feb of 2009 and we have been lucky enough to have a growing fan base since day one.

Our influences in the industry are bands such as Deftones, Between the Buried and Me, Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engaged, Ill Nino, Tool, and many others.

Sticking to only one guitarist, bassist, vocalist and drummer, we have a clear refreshing sound that you don't get much of these days, with some bands having up to 7-8 members. Fittingly enough, each of our members had been in bands that had just ceased on it's own or crashed and burned, so Born From Ruins we already were....

In summer of 2011, we released our first EP entitled "Daddy's Little Whore" which is now available on Bandcamp and iTunes as well as Amazon, CDBaby, and Spotify.

Our first full length CD is scheduled to be released by May 2014.  The first single "Save Me" and newest single "Bloodshot" are now available!  Check out the video for "Save Me" here!
