Born Wreckless

Born Wreckless is more than just a "typical" underground Hip-Hop group. Born Wreck's music represents an ideology... a daily mind-set. It mirrors the movement of the people, the struggle, and most importantly, the entire Hip-Hop culture. Born Wreckless is what gets a tired body out of bed in the morning... it's your favorite drug... it's the slap in the face of false realities, smashing pre-concieved notions of what actually is. Born Wreckless the group, consists of veteran Hip-Hop heads, Crooked Shakespeare and Che Fontaine. Often compared to Beastie Boys meet Wu-Tang,the group themselves officially declare they sound like no one in paticular. Although their influence and inspiration is primarily early to mid 90's Hip-Hop, their love for music is actually more diverse than most rappers. Everyone from Stevie Wonder, to Sizzla, to Led Zepplin, has had a major impact musically on both Crook and Che. Shakespeare AKA "Crook" started rapping in the Mid-90's, releasing his debut solo effort in 2004. Selling over 3000 copies independently, the album continues to move units, getting local radio support till this day. Crook's lyrical dexterity and "make you think" style translates over effortlessly to the entire Wreckless essence. Che Fontaine AKA "Vandal", originally a graffiti artist has been rapping since '95, but didn't start taking it seriously till '99. MC's like KRS-ONE, Fat Joe, Raekwon, and Tame One proved that not only did graff writers have something to say, they actually could rap too. Fontaine's aggressive style and savage humor paints a beautifully cynic, sometimes violent landscape of the world in which Che sees it. The "Dirty Jerz" duo met in 2000,realizing common musical tastes and the desire to change the "Bling" status of rap to a truer, more relevant form of Hip-Hop music. From that point on, Crook and Che starting hitting every and any stage possible, building an undeniable reputation in the Tri-State "Underground". After numerous downfalls,side projects,and set-backs, Born Wreckless, was finally manifested in 2005."B-Dub" now has a promotional/production company "UGLYFACE", as well as, a mixtape and full-length group album currently in the works. Born Wreckless has shared stages collectively or as solo artists with such notable acts as...The Snoopadelics, Omega, Immortal Technique, Poisen Pen, Afu-Ra, The Shankbone Mystic Project, Pumpkin Head, Pacewon, Vast-Aire, TameOne, Grandmaster Caz, Shabaam Sahdeek, Petelshot, Sav-Killz and countless others. With a recent local buzz and an raw, energetic live show, Born Wreckless continues to gain momentum. Proving once again, that "Real" Hip-Hop,is indeed,alive and well.
