Borrisokane play music you can't help but dance to. The songs are tinged with 1960's pop sensibilities and electronic meanderings. We have been compared to The Magnetic Fields, The XX and Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.

Biography

Borrisokane took a while. Growing up, Derek told his sister Rebecca they should start a band. Prone to distraction, she went to law school and he did not. They moved into a tiny house in a landlocked neighborhood. A tall man put his head through the window and asked if they were looking for a drummer. Josh and Rebecca were later married. They formed Borrisokane and then quickly got over their stage fright and booked some shows. Borrisokane likes to sing quietly and play loud music you can’t help but dance to. Their first EP, tinged with 1960's pop sensibilities and electronic meanderings, was released on Bandcamp in the summer of 2011. Borrisokane has been described as a mix of The Magnetic Fields, The XX, and Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.
