Bio
Bottles of Sorrow began when Nick LaVie and Brendan Gavaghan first picked up guitars in 2003. Throughout high school Nick and Brendan played shows here and near the end of high school wrote their first original song. Brendan went to audio school in New York City for nine months and when he came back Bottles of Sorrow reformed with a completely new sound. They switched from acoustic to electric and added a drummer, Ed Lackie. With Ed’s influence their music really began to flourish and within no time they had written and recorded an EP. 2010 was the biggest year for the band as they played ten shows, recorded their EP, and started to develop a fan base. Bottles of Sorrow has an up tempo light hearted sound that is catchy and at the same time musically challenging. Their major influences are Street Dogs, Blink 182, and Less Than Jake and their music is a good mix between them. From songs about drinking to songs about financial hardship Bottles of Sorrow is a new band with a different style than most music coming out of Boston.
