On their latest 12” release, Discolite, the chameleons in Boulevard are shedding a layer of their rock ‘n’ roll skin for the elegance of synths and drum machines. With help from some friends (remixes by Dan Geller from I Am The World Trade Center, NYC’s DJ Japanster, and Winston Electric), Boulevard moves further along its trajectory, expanding the band’s influence, sound, and vision. (Available 1/29/08 on Luminal Records)
Boulevard's "Vice & Daring" debuted at No. 8 on the CMJ charts in December 2005 (No. 7 was The Darkness!). In May 2006 Boulevard won the voter's choice Zig Zag Live competition sponsored by CMJ and Spin Magazine, playing a showcase at the Knitting Factory in NYC. Summer 2006, "Vice & Daring" remains in the Top 40 in the UK on SKY channel 0155 and Pulse Rated.
With this kind of response from both fans and the industry alike, Boulevard was drawn to New York City to pursue an even more modern, progressive sound. The upcoming single "Discolite" will be released on 12" limited edition purple vinyl by Luminal Records in winter 2008.
