Don’t be afraid to hear it…
Group name Bound by the Truth (BBTT) for short. Was organized by the calling of God to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through music in the fall of 1999. Based out of Minneapolis MN. Our goal is to reach out through an alternative gospel sound. Members are ShawnD(shi nice aka The Teach), vocalist Tyshikia. A mix between rap, and r&b, but 100% Gospel. One vision to be vessels for Christ in all we do, especially music. This work is for every one, through our life's trials and tribulations we bring you music for all ages, and from every side of the tracks. Enough said, so open your ears and get ready to hear the Truth...
Why this name?
It's like this we are all bound by something whether we no it or not, and after I learned about the fullness of God; I'm now filled with his word. Through song it will be loosed and set free for all the listeners to do the same.
Do you play live?
Yes. At different churches around the twin cities a couple park events, and my home church.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives more freedom to the artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the situation is right. No matter what you pay me, I'll never be like jay-z. Repping Christ on a daily, so to the industry, you can't change me...
Your influences?
First our father our lord and savior. Home pastor J. Tribble. In the music world Shirley Ceasar, Bebe and Cece Winan, gospel gangstaz, t-bone and kirk franklin. Pretty much everyone putting it down for the kingdom.
Favorite spot?
Chi town i'm a chicago native, and i just love the city.
Anything else...?
Right now it's all about the father. He was and still is a father to us, when we didn't have one to learn from. If song is our only gift, allow us to give it back to the world. Hopefully, someone receives the lord into their life through this work. We love ya, and keep us in prayer as we do the same for you. "Dont be afraid to hear it..."
