Biography

The summer of 2003 marked the beginning of a new musical chapter in the lives of four musicians based in the northern Ontario city of Sault Ste Marie. Affectionately known as "Steel City" by its inhabitants, Sault Ste Marie and its distinct skyline of mills, factories, and railyards provided the ideal backdrop for the events that led to the success of Boxcar Junction.
However...Boxcar Junction isn't just a band, it's an experience. A shared passion for timeless, definite music encompassing the creativity and skills of it's members. Their music has been described as "roots influenced rock". A coming together of guitar driven melodies, rock-n-roll energy, and a little country charm. A shared appreciation for a variety of musical genres is a common thread that weaves it's way in and out of the band's music and performance.
Guitarist Rick Senko's riffs are incredibly infectuous, and his heartfelt solos are energizing and captivating. The band's foundation is set on the rhythmic stylings of veteran drummer Mike Blair, and the smooth and stylish grooves of bassist Steve Dowding. Channeling all of this energy to the crowd is front man and lead singer Carl Falls, who's powerfull, yet breathtaking voice shares the band's stories with their audience.
Boxcar Junction has been one of northern Ontario's best kept secrets, but the hills are echoing with their sound and they're heading your way at full steam...
