"Boxing At The Zoo – ‘BATZ’ (ep review)"

"Fueled by captivating indie pop rock that mixes the emotional depth of early Modest Mouse, the catchy rhythm of Vampire Weekend debut, and the blissful vocals of The Head and the Heart, Boxing At The Zoo self-titled EP (BATZ) strikes a chord of harmony and progression for the Central Florida independent scene." - The Vinyl Warhol

"Expanded live opportunities at Spacebar; live review of Boxing at the Zoo and Sherlok"

In fact, Happy Camper’s recent local showcase (March 31) yielded a nice discovery in Boxing at the Zoo. Even though their melodies are sweet and sturdy enough to stand on their own, this is an indie-pop band that’s smart enough to shoot higher with some nice instrumental detail. But their greater virtue is the balance with which they handle it all, perking the brain enough to be interesting but upholding enough breeze and crispness to never get mired in fuss. The result is pleasingly dynamic guitar pop that sails above the fray. - Posted By Bao Le-Huu on Sat, Apr 2, 2016 at 3:45 pm

"Local musicians come together to help Orlando shooting victims"

Chase Bauduin and bandmates of Orlando-based band Boxing at the Zoo live just a few minutes from Pulse nightclub, the site of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

When news broke of the horrific events, he thought of ways to help and inspire his community. At first, he thought about putting together an album of unreleased songs and demos from his band, but then decided to reach out to colleagues in the local music scene.

"The whole thing really cut deep," Bauduin said. "I just wanted to find a way to inspire hopefully a couple extra donations."

The result was was a collaboration of local music called "City Beautiful: A Compilation for Pulse." The 10-song album is now available on, with a "name your own price" contribution and all proceeds going to Equality Florida's account set up for Pulse victims, survivors and their families.

All songs are never-before-released, consisting of original songs, demos and acoustic versions of previous recordings.

"Honestly, it’s just gut-wrenching knowing those people went out that night to just really celebrate the night the same way people do that come out to our shows and it’s devastating that’s what they were met with," Bauduin said. "The were met with hate."
