Mrs. Smit And The Boys From Brasil is a band from Holland that has fallen in love with Brazilian culture and music. Inspired by the uplifting Samba and relaxing Bossa Nova they write their own songs. June 9th, 2013 their debut album will be released in Paradiso, Amsterdam.

Their sound is fresh, poppy and hard to resist. The lyrics are in English and Portuguese and talk about positivity, summer, leaving you worries behind and not caring what other people think when you start dancing for no particular reason. Mrs. Smit And The Boys From Brasil take you to quiet beaches and samba clubs in Rio de Janeiro. They wont bring you home before the sun comes up.

In the spring of 2012 the band raised money to record a CD through crowd funding on www.voordekunst.nl. With livingroom concerts, radio appearances, and a small but hardcore fan base they gathered money to make a fantastic album. In the summer of 2012 a second dream came true, the band did a tour in Brazil. They travelled around the country for a month, playing in Rio de Janeiro, Anpolis, So Paolo and Belo Horizonte. An amazing experience full of new friendships, amazing people and great music. In June 2013 the band will release their first album 'Make Love, Have Fun (and lots of babies)'. After that they will go wherever their music will take them.
