Bio

WHERE IS THE BAND FROM?

SCARLETT:
I'm from Gaspereau Valley, Nova Scotia.

KEVIN:
Andy, Dave and I all grew up in Sarnia, Ontario. I've known Dave since the 4th grade.

HOW DID YOU GUYS GET TOGETHER?

ANDY:
Dave and I were working with another project when our manager called and said he had taken on a new artist, and asked if we might be interested in joining the band. I felt really strongly about the material; it was an easy decision.

KEVIN:
I got the call from Dave who said his new band needed a killer drummer and so, I was the only option!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC?

SCARLETT:
It's difficult to categorize. I think our music contains elements of New Wave, Pop, Rock, Punk, and Reggae. We don't want to limit our creative options to a single category.

WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INFLUENCES?

SCARLETT:
I'm basically a music junkie. The Police, Blondie, The Motels, The Pretenders, Frankie Valli, The Drifters, Elvis Presley, Ryan Adams, Fleetwood Mac, Ella Fitzgerald, Beach Boys, Paul Simon, The Ronettes, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Janis Ian...WHEW!

ANDY:
I'm really all over the place but was mostly into bands like U2, INXS, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Def Leppard and Aerosmith.

DAVE:
I have always been very easily manipulated by peer pressure. I like whatever's cool and popular. I like whatever Andy likes.

WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST SHOW?

KEVIN:
We managed to get a time slot at the 2006 Junofest in Halifax. We played a few warm-up gigs in a couple local pubs but the Junos was really our debut. It was also mine and Dave's very first flight EVER...I risked my life for that show.

SCARLETT:
I grew up around Halifax, and prior to the Junos I hadn't been home in years. It was cool that our first show would be in Nova Scotia.

WHAT CAN SOMEONE EXPECT AT A LIVE BVG SHOW?

DAVE:
Definitely great dynamics. I think the songs are stadium bound. The show has a perfect balance of high and soft energy, tension, ups and downs. The songs are hooky and really lend themselves to an audience.

KEVIN:
Slick Beats and Laser Sticks!

ANDY:
Lots of hot chicks wearing "I Love Andy" t-shirts.

SCARLETT:
And of course as our finale, Dave lights his guitar on fire, rips off his clothes and goes body surfing through the crowd.

WHAT BANDS ARE YOU GUYS LISTENING TO?

ANDY:
Frou Frou, Billy Talent, Coldplay, Imogen Heap, Mute Math, and for a solo artist, I'd say Gavin Degraw.

SCARLETT:
I have to be honest; I'm a bit out of the loop. I know there are a lot of talented bands out there but I don't get much chance to listen to radio and I rarely bother with TV. I dig Feist's last record, I like Metric; love Ben Harper. I just discovered a great band from the U.K called The Pipettes.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR BOYS VS GIRL ?

SCARLETT:
Hopefully touring the record and getting the tunes out to a live audience.

KEVIN:
Mo Monayyyy.

ANDY:
Lots of groupies.
