Discography

Songs from the “The Ever Changing Picture” would go on to be featured in various film/tv projects including the "Winner of the Best Short Film Documentary Award" at the Maui Film Festival, 2005’s "All Aboard The Crazy Train" starring Laird Hamilton, with music and special guest appearances by Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, and Ben Stiller. The track “You’re Good” was on the hit UPN show “Jake 2.0”. MTV’s “There and Back-Ashley Parker Angel”, “Road Rules”, VH1's "Scott Baio is 45 and Single, and currently E! entertainment's new hit reality TV show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" feature tracks/instrumentals from the album, while the song “Gold” was featured in ESPN’s 2006 “Winter X Games” when snowboarder Shaun White was accepting his medal. Byrd’s music was also included on the TEVA sportswear sampler “The Nomadic Anthology Vol 2” alongside artist’s Ben Harper, Beth Orton, Josh Rouse, Glen Phillips, and Josh Ritter respectively. The single “Never Came Back” amazingly achieved the #1 most downloaded track title on the Artist Direct.com charts, ahead of well known artists such as Jewel, Jason Mraz, and Damien Rice to name a few on April 30, 2004. This success spawned the licensing and national release/distribution of Byrd’s debut in the spring of 2005 to all major retail/outlet stores through LA based indie label “Free Agency Recordings/Navarre”.

Bio

Brad Byrd began his musical career in the fall of 2001, when he moved from New York City to Los Angeles, CA in the hopes of finding a producer and making a record. His decision to make the move compelled him to write and finish the songs that would comprise his debut album “The Ever Changing Picture.” “I had a bunch of songs written, and a bunch half-way there so to speak, I needed to complete the journey to the west coast in order to finish writing that record.” Within a year or so, Byrd hooked up with LA producer Evan Frankfort and began recording. “When I met Evan and started working with him, I knew that he was the guy for the job. I wasn’t interested in making a 3 song demo and shopping it. For me, it was simply time to get chapter 1 documented.” Byrd and Evan completed the album in early 2003, and Byrd released the record under his own label/publishing company “Rockport Publishing”, which later got picked up by indie label "Free Agency Media" which distrbuted the 11 track album in most major retail stores in the US on March 8, 2005. The album is consistently referred to as an "undiscovered gem", and slowly but surely continues to spread via word of mouth.

Brad began his career performing live in the super competitive LA club scene including legendary singer/songwriter hot spot the “Hotel Cafe”, which helped him to develop his live show and start building an awareness. The peak of his west coast performances was landing the opening slot for the act “Jurassic 5” at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail, Co. on June 20, 04’, and the official cd release show at the Hotel Cafe on May 4th, 2005. Directly following the “official cd release show”, Byrd boarded a plane headed back to New York City to attend a friend's wedding, which unbenounced to him, would mark a permamanent relocation back east. “It took a while before it truly sunk in that I wasn’t going back to LA”, a string of northeastern US/Canada regional tour dates, and a visit to his parents in Rockport, MA, would ultimately prove as a return-home base for the singer/songwriter. “I have to admit, that moving back to the Cape Ann, MA area where I grew up, has truly got me back in touch with who I am, I have indeed found the way back “home” to be unbelievably inspiring.”

Currently, Byrd is working on his sophomore full length studio effort. Byrd writes most of his material off acoustic guitar, but isn’t afraid to jump on the drums and work out some parts in the studio. “I am very much so a drummer at heart”, says Byrd who stylings have been compared to the likes of rock singer/songwriter's Pete Yorn, Cary Brothers, and Stacy Jones, and who's sound(s) to date resemble a wide array of indie rock bands such Nada Surf, Guster, Sparklehorse, Rogue Wave, Coldplay, and Snow Patrol to name a few.
Byrd’s voice and sound is both uniquely powerful and haunting, while his lyrics sneak up on you and slowly mesmerize. His body of work is quite diverse ranging from sonic ambient rock tracks, to rootsy country numbers. “Alternative-country-contemporary-indie-rock” if you will. Byrd’s music continues to find new fans everyday on myspace and the internet, yet his profile has remained relatively indie to date. “I am a big believer in the slow build, letting the music do the talking, and letting a base grow organically. I love playing live, but have so many songs written that need to get recorded that the focus is on recording these days. However, playing shows that "make sense economically", and putting my music out worldwide/on-line/myspace, is basically the nuts and bolts of my business plan for marketing. I’m truly grateful for all that has happened in my career, and look forward to working with many new fans and folks back on the east coast, and getting some more material released soon,” says Byrd, who’s advancing profile have him pegged as an emerging artist to look out for.

Thank you and look forward to working with you.
