About a year ago, Cameron Miller and a friend wanted to be a part of something different and spread the gospel message in an unconventional way.
They formed the band, Sonic Praise, and discovered that their pop punk music and inspirational lyrics resonate with audiences, because they’ve played every weekend since their first performance.
The Rutherfordton-based group will bring its unique style to the Cleveland County Fair Oct. 6 at 6 p.m.
“It’s a calling, a passion and a dream, so we do it because we just simply love doing it,” said Miller in an email. “We play punk music because we want to bring forth a positive message to people in a fun way.”
The group’s music is influenced by Green Day, Rancid, The Clash and Foo Fighters, he said.
“Punk is more of a musical genre than a lifestyle to us,” he said. “We all have grown up listening to it so that’s what we want to do. I think we have had success because of the heart and dedication and the faith. We keep pushing ourselves to achieve a goal and a dream and we don’t give up.”
In February, Sonic Praise won the 2011 Scene Setter award for best Christian group in the upstate of South Carolina, given by the TV show “Scene on 7.” And their music has been featured on 93.3 The Planets Upstate Unsigned, an all rock station. They have signed with independent record label, Sparkle City Records.
Miller sings and plays guitar in the band. Other members are Kevin Lumbert, bass; Michael Said, drums; and Tyler Bradley, guitar.
“Every member of Sonic Praise has a different background and a different story — a testimony to tell,” Miller said. “We want to spread the word of God and a positive outlook on life in a new, fun way to interact with people.”

Bradley Falls is an Alternative/Punk/Rock band from Asheville N.C, If you ask the fans they would say these guys put on an awesome show for and give people a new way to experience positive music about hope or about jesus. With heart driving pop punk music and inspirational lyrics, these guys really love what they do best. The band formed in 2010, with shows booked every weekend since there formation, the venues and the fans can say you will not be disappointed. With shows all around the US and a record contract, these guys sure know how to put on a show! Their music has been featured on 93.3 The Planet, 89.3 His Radio Z, 106.9 The Edge, and others. The music is so diverse that it touches everyone in a certain way.Whether its about love, hope, faith or about GOD these guys love singing and playing music. They also just recently won the Scene Setters award for the best Christian band on Scene on 7. It is easy for them relate with the younger fans and to everyone that loves good christian/rock music, thats why each time they perform their following grows, making them one of the hottest growing bands around right now. They have also caught the eye of 2 music labels, Sparkle City Records and Toxic City Records and signed with Sparkle City in early 2011! These guys love playing music for the simple joy of playing music! It is what they do, it is their lives, and they do this because it is a calling. It is what they are lead to do. They love to spread the word of our lord and savior Jesus Christ to a younger generation in a different, unique way!
