"The Canadian music industry has produced some great music over the past few decades, and Monk and the Union Band should consider themselves a part of this phenomenon."

Canadian Boys, also known as Monk and The Union Band have become known for their outstanding performances, songwriting and stellar musicianship. Each of the players brings an impressive set of influences and pedigree to the mix: noted Producer and songwriter Gerry Mosby presents himself on Bass and backing Vocals. Gerry has produced the last two Monk records. Also a mainstay in the Union Band are Steve Briggs, (BeBop Cowboys) Guitar and Burke Carroll, Pedal Steel, Brent Barkman, Hammond Organ and Blake Manning (Jim Cuddy) on Drums. Within the band, they have played and toured with everyone from Gowan to Merle Haggard to Blue Rodeo.
Recently focusing on recording, the band has never sounded better and with a much anticipated new record being released in the Spring of 07, this could be the year for this very talented group.
