"Brad Thompson Plays Club's Anniversary Party"

"In celebration of its second anniversary, The Alligator Lounge is throwing a little party tonight. Actually, little is probably a poor choice of words for the bash which will include two local bands and one nationally touring act. In to the wee hours of the night headliner Brad Thompson & The Undulating Band will take the stage. This band is known for packing houses at home in Fort Worth, TX with their original, acoustic jam style."

"Sounds of Texas"

"Sounds of Texas will trickle through the streets of Springfield this weekend. Brad Thompson & The Undulating Band start it off tonight bringing their acoustic-based rock from Dallas to the Bar Next Door. To say that Thompson performs personal songs would be cliché in a time where every songwriter yearns for the label "introspective". What makes him stand out is the quiet intensity he brings to those songs. More than the typical whiner of the 90’s, Thompson sings with a spirited style and deep conviction. Thompson also has a strong voice and music that adds a modern flavor to that rich Texas blend of country blues."

Bio

At 43, Fort Worth Texas singer-songwriter Brad Thompson has now begun work on his eighth full length CD. “I’m immensely proud of all the CD’s I’ve recorded to date, and now it’s time to see what else I can try out.” Releasing all his discs on Texas indie label Aaron Ave. Records, Brad knows what’s required of an indie artist making their own records – songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, arranger, producer, band leader and he’s shown that he’s up for the task. The CD’s have ranged in styles from stark, honest solo recordings, to hook-laden rock recordings, to spiritual. “The latest disc? Maybe a crazy mix of all three of those styles.” Brad muses.

In addition to working towards the release of his next album, due out in early 2013, Brad keeps a busy live schedule playing everything from intimate solo shows to full on rock shows with his three band mates. He also plays acoustic guitar and provides backing vocals for two other Texas songwriters, Melissa Lawson winner of the 2009 Nashville Star competition and Elizabeth Wills Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Competition Finalist. Brad also provides music for several national children’s oncology camps every summer and is a music instructor at a local Fort Worth school for children with severe learning disabilities. “We've only been given so much time on this earth and I want to make the most of that time playing music.” Brad says, “Music is a brilliant and fantastic communicator, I will always trust that and believe that.”

Brad’s 20+ years as a songwriter/performer have taken him all across the U.S. several times and even into Mexico and Puerto Rico. A native Texan born and raised in Grand Prairie, Brad has resided in Fort Worth the past 11 years. He has a twelve-year-old daughter who plays guitar and a nine-year-old son who plays drums, and he drives a minivan.
