"Cults – Go Outside (Brainbheats Remix)"

With all the hubbub about the Cults a few months back, I didn’t know if I was sold on them. It’s definitely fun music and a great story of how they went from obscurity to indie rock buzzband in a matter of days, but I needed something more. And I think that maybe the subtle but tasty Brainbheats Remix is that something. Brainbheats is the project of Mr. Brian Healey and from the looks of the bio on his website, it seems he’s a pretty accomplished musician whose performed with some of the greats. He’s taking his act to a live setting for the first time ever next month in Louisville so check him out even though he admittedly has no idea how it will go (I’m guessing it will go well to quite well). We first heard this track from our friends over at We Listen For You so make sure to pay them a visit as well if you aren’t already a loyal reader. - DailyBeatz

"Local Natives – Who Knows? (Brainbheats Remix)"

One of the illest remixes I’ve heard in a while. First off, its of perhaps my favorite Local Natives songs from their redonkulously good debut album Gorilla Manor, so that’s a pretty good start. And then Brainbheats, aka Brian Healey of Lousville band The Pass, comes along and takes the track into the future, in a time where friendly robots run the land. Or any other futuristic scenario you might have in mind. Pay special attention to the 3:03 mark. And for the full effect, throw on a pair of headphones. - The Music Ninja

"Das Racist – “hahahaha jk?” (Brainbheats Remix)"

Ever wonder how Days Of Our Lives would sound if it went synth pop? Brainbheats, of The Pass (who released a wicked, PMA approved debut record last year with Burst) has remixed Boi-1da’s stellar beat for Das Racist from their second critically acclaimed mixtape of 2010, Sit Down Man. The new remix of “hahahaha jk?” maintains a few elements of the highly original track while completely altering it, adding an array of synthesizers, mechanical vocals, and some dazzling electro-pop beats, that are evocative of Burst. Das Racist are known to use obscure, vintage electronica in their music (“Chicken And Meat”), but I have yet to hear Kool AD and Heems rap on a beat like this. - Pretty Much Amazing

"Local Natives - Who Knows (Brainbeats Remix)"

Remember that awesome Cults remix a few weeks back courtesy of Brian Healey aka Brainbheats? Well he just dropped another killer remix, this time of one of my favorite Local Natives tunes, “Who Knows Who Cares?” He turns the track upside down, taking the slower tune and giving it a lightning fast electronic beat (especially in the second half. DAMN) and I can’t even describe the other electronic sounds going on but his soundcloud page tags the track with “gritty” “trashwave” and “electrodub”. It’s tough buying into remixes of songs when I love the originals as much as this one, but it totally works. I think the highlight might be the little breakdown at the 3:02 mark. Sick. - DailyBeatz

"Tomorrow is the Destroyer"

...It’s carefully thought out and well-executed experimental piano music. I’m geeky about experimental production methods, so I think Tomorrow is the Destroyer is novel and interesting...You have to devote the whole of your attention to the beats... - LEO Weekly

"Brainbheats - Tomorrow is the Destroyer EP"

I don't often hear music that runs the gamut of every genre possible. However, this was before I had heard the the musical ambitions of Brainbheats, aka Brian Healy. This amazing foray into everything from smooth jazz to heavy drum and bass has been my listening choice for the last couple of days. Although, I may be getting a slight case of A.D.D. in the process.

Healy's musical accomplishments are immense and one does not have to search much further than his own compositions to understand that he is influenced by, well, everything! His timing is perfect and his exploration is a joy to listen to. I couldn't recommend this e.p. more and, as a bonus, you have to check out his mashups here [omitted]. These are hands down some of the best mashups I have ever heard. - Paper Pistol
