Dox Boogie drops The Boogie Man Ep, and I have to say that the album gives you 10 tracks of some real Boombap, that’ll have you head nod, and tap your timbs in tune to every track on the subway ride home. With features including Copywrite, Masai Bey, Banish, Nems FYL, Skrewtape, and plenty of more talented emcees, that really Compliments Dox Boogie’s “In your face” type flow. This ain’t no Drake “I just want to get to know you” type rap man, this some “hide your kids, hide your wife” type hip hop. One of my favorite tracks off the EP, is “I’m Raw”. The Track hits you with some dope electric guitar loops, and has Inspectah Deck/Gza “Bring Da Ruckus” sampled on the Hook, with Dox Boogie spitting… well, that raw. This Ep is well worth the cop, if you want that ” get your meat lumped” type flows, on top of some real dope beats to go along with it. Dox got himself a banger with this one, I’m sold. - HIPHOPHEAD.NET

Dox Boogie

Let me give you a little back story on a rapper known as Dox Boogie. Growing up in Queens, NY, Dox was introduced to hip hop at an early age. Around 13 years old, he took his first step into the hip hop culture when he got interested in the art side, where he bombed trains and walls for a short time. His love for music grew outside of just being a listener. While freestyling was part of his life since way back, Dox didn’t start taking it seriously until the late ’90s. Once he reached college, he started out as a DJ at a radio station (WFIT 88.9) and did regular sessions. Eventually, he joined a hip hop group and started recording with them. They released a project in 1998, but disbanded shortly after. After the group thing didn’t work out, he decided to do things alone. He released a couple of mixtapes — “Heart Thru Tunnel Syndrome” in 2000, “MadstAttic Mixtape” in 2002, and then his “Help – The EP” LP (Buy) that he dropped in 2004… which included a 32-city tour. Now let’s fast-forward to now… 2010.

Dox Boogie is getting ready to release a mixtape (“X Marks the SPot“) and a full-length LP (“X-Rayted“). Guest spots include Planet Asia, C-Rayz Walz, Venomous2000, Copywrite, F.T., Planet Asia, Wu Tang(Kevlaar7, Solomon Childs), NEMS FYL, Illa Ghee, Masai Bey, Crazeology, Varick Pyr, Solomon Childs, and many others. It’s definitely going to be his biggest project so far, so we here at CB are trying to help him with getting the word out.

Below are exaples of four tracks from the album. He gives you a little sample of some of the artist’s parts on the tracks. All of these were produced by Dox Boogie himself (he also raps on the tracks too). Anyway, check ‘em out.
