Brandi Kaye

Born and raised in the small, country town of Onsted, Michigan. From the time Brandi Kaye could speak, moving to Nashville and pursuing a career in music has been her dream. She spent the early years of her life in Show Choir, Chorus and competing in local events. She was part of the USO Show in Civic Auditorium in Tecumseh, MI at he age of 13. Brandi attended Western Michigan University where she was part of the Western Michigan University Choir. She also competed in the Colgate Country Showdown for 5 years where she placed in the regional competition. Brandi loved entertaining in her hometown, but soon outgrew the modest roots of Onsted. She put the pieces together and followed her heart to Music City.
Brandi Kaye took a chance on life and headed south to follow her dreams and start a successful career in the process. She has been in Nashville for a year now and she is making her dream come true. She has began writing and recording new songs for her debut album, “Country Funk” to be released in the Fall of 2008. This album will feature songs written and co-written by Brandi herself and will be a direct reflection of who Brandi is as a person and an artist. Since coming to Nashville she has began performing in local venues. Everywhere she appears she wow’s the audience and gains fans. She is currently booking new gigs.

Much of what Brandi Kaye writes is influenced by events in her own life which is why her music is full of strong, honest, shoot-from-the-hip lyrics. These heartfelt lyrics accompanied by her sultry, rich voice allows Brandi Kaye’s songs to reach deep into the soul of the listener. She sings about life and people can relate to that. Her well-trained voice and wide vocal range is a direct result of years of vocal training. Brandi can effortlessly glide from sultry low notes to heart piercing highs. She knows how entrance the audience and leave them wanting more.

Brandi Kaye’s sound is not your typical country. It is a sound all her own. A reflection of funky Michigan/Detroit Motor City influence; her modest, country up-bring; and the bluesy sound found naturally in her voice. You can find hints of Blues and Bluegrass in Brandi’s music, along with other influences such as Joan Jett, Heart, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Patsy Cline, June Carter and her all-time favorite, Martina McBride. When you hear Brandi Kaye her sound is one of a kind. It is unmistakably Brandi Kaye. It is best described as “Motor City met Country and shook it up with a little Blues”.

It is undeniable that Brandi Kaye is an artist not to be missed. She has an amazingly, captivating voice that reaches across genre’s and age groups. She is sure to become a household name.

“It's interesting when I think about influences....... Well, I've been very fortunate to always have a great support system of family and close friends both have influenced me and inspired me to reach for my dream in pursuing a career in Music. When I was growing up I participated in Choir and Swing Choir and went on to compete in Solo and Ensemble competitions and I learned a lot from these competitions as they would critique you skill and ability and list some ways on how to improve. I

would also have to say that I had the best Choir teacher all through school and she was always an inspiration. As far as artists go or types of music it definitely varies from Mariah Carey, Oleta Adams, Aretha (of course) or anything that is soulful and you can really feel the lyrics. Country music was something that I have developed a deep love of and some of my favorite Artists include Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Reba McIntyre, Garth Brooks and my all time favorite singer in country music is Martina!
