a mixture of folk, electronica and dance the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Mumford and Sons, Jonsí, Caribou and Fleet Foxes. Imagine they genetically created a band from all of their sounds: That's Brando and the Waterfront.

Biography

In 2009, musician Brandon Kress graduated Berklee College Of Music and started working on a bunch of singer/songwriter style songs under the moniker of Brando.

Unable to stay satisfied with just that ordinary Singer/Songwriter sound, he started melding together all his previous musical influences such as Post-Rock, Folk, Rock, Dance, Punk and Ambient as well as plucking from the sounds of some of his favorite artists; Sufjan Stevens, Grizzly Bear and Fleet Foxes.

He set his sights on putting his music down and getting it ready for distribution while, in the meantime, putting together a band to perform his recorded creations live. This has evolved into Brando and the Waterfront.

With GrownDowns released January 11th, he's moving to New York, booking shows and finishing the second part to GrownDowns.

Keep and eye out for GrownDowns pt. 2: The Vagabond Diaries expected out before July.

Sing Sing

Written By: Brandon Kress

Swing swing from the hickory tree
I can see, I can see, I can see through everything
Fall fall to the water below
And I know, oh I know, yes I know that you can sing

Sing for me all the way back to the city now.
In harmony to the sounds of the windows down.

Friends jumping deep down into the well
I can tell, I can tell they’ll be there through anything.
Drive-thru singing late into the night
‘til it’s bright, ‘til it’s bright and the early bells ring.

Sing with me all the way to the infirmary
With broken feet but it doesn’t matter just as long as you’re here with me.

Pull

Written By: Brandon Kress

Daddy's buried in a grave in the front yard. Mama's burying her nose in her books.
She lost her Bible and she's started to drink hard. She took to junk food and she lost her good looks.

A conversation is like having your teeth pulled. She holds her liquor like the flask in her purse.
It's never empty but it's never quite full. Just like her sentences all halfway dispersed.

But you know that I am pulling for her. Oh you know that I can't push her further. (x2)

One day she'll find her way right into the front yard and she'll be tired after her life's jaunt.
And people everywhere will send their regards but I'll be happy 'cause it's what she wants.

I... I won't hold my breath though I may wait a long while without any rest.
and you... You put me to the test; you said 'don't wait up, I'm not coming back.'

And then you left ol' Mississippi and drove north past Poughkeepsie and I knew I'd never see you again.
I imagine where you're going, imagine where you've been, wishing I could see you again.
...I'll never see you again.

I... I feel so abandoned but I remember why you left and I hold back my sadness.
and you... You wander alone and I still feel like my love is what forced you to go.

Because you left ol' Mississippi and drove north past Poughkeepsie and I knew I'd never see you again.
I imagine where you're going, imagine where you've been, wishing I could see you again. (x2)
...I'll never see you again.
