Brandon Taylor

Born, raised, and currently residing in Calgary, Alberta, twenty-year-old rapper Brandon Taylor became infatuated with music and writing at a young age, and rap became his favorite genre when he realized it was the perfect combination of his two strongest talents. At age fifteen Brandon began writing rap songs non-stop, recording them on a cheap microphone in his basement and previewing tracks only to his closest friends. At age sixteen, he began recording at Calgary musician Adam Stanton’s private, professional home studio, where he would eventually record his full-length debut mixtape, “16 Bars & Running”, which was released for free in the summer of 2013. As of 2016, "16 Bars & Running" had been downloaded over 5,300 times. Brandon’s complex, multi-syllable rhyme schemes and smooth delivery have become signatures of his rapping style, as well as his taste in high energy, soulful production. In addition to rapping, Brandon also produces music for himself as well as other artists. He has opened for major artists including Wu-Tang Clan and Jadakiss, as well as performed at multiple editions of 10@10, Calgary's local hip-hop showcase. Brandon's currently untitled second album is set to be released Summer 2016.
