"Hard To Slot"

I’m finding it hard to slot this one as Brandon Beauchesne pulls from many genres to create his ultra hip sound. Maybe part T-Rex, part Gary Numan, and part Roxy Music? Probably a fair assessment, as Beauchesne brings back ’70s Glam Rock and combines it with ’80s synth-heavy New Wave. Oh, and he wears makeup — how very Ziggy Stardust of him. As a former member of the Envy, Beauchesne is well versed in the ways of guitar driven rock, but after the band dispersed he began focusing on creating his own sound — a sound that Beauchesne has dubbed “Groove Pop.” So far he hasn’t released any music for purchase, but you can download four of his tunes free via MySpace. What a guy!

Bio

Brandon Beauchesne (Bo shane) was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington and he started to gain an interest in music very early in life. Brandon's father helped him with his first steps into music by teaching him how to play the drums at the age of 6. At age 8 Brandon had fallen in love with the sounds of the electric guitar. In 1994 Brandon received his first guitar, opening a whole new world for the young musician.

Brandon performed in several talent shows throughout his school career. This gave Brandon a taste of what it was like to be the center of a crowd; he completely ate it up.

From 2000 to 2005 Brandon Beauchesne fronted the Tacoma based hard rock band named "The Envy". With constant lineup changes, and a shortage of drummers, the three founding members eventually decided to part ways and focus on other projects.

For the past three years Brandon has been hard at work writing and recording all new, all original solo tracks under a genre he defines as "Groove Pop". His sound blossoms from a variety of different musical art forms but still focuses on one driving groove.

"I want to write music that the kids twenty years from now are still going to be able nod their heads to," Brandon previously stated.

Brandon has come a long way since the early days of his first guitar and set of drums. Since then he has become obsessed with the digital side of the spectrum. While still using the organic rock and roll sounds of guitars, drums, and bass, he has developed a knack for manipulating synths, drum machines, and effects processors to create a unique blend of audio.

Early in 2008, Brandon began pooling together the material he had written throughout previous years, assembled his live band, The Manifesto, and began recording his first full length album.

With little more than a garage full of equipment, a vision, and the support of friends and family, the artist set out on his endeavor. Brandon's ambition and talent proved to be the spring board he needed in order to complete his album. "The Great American Love Story" finally made it's way to the streets of Washington on Halloween of 2008.

Since then, Brandon has begun an aggressive pursuit to spread his music to as many people and venues as possible; currently the artist is focusing on his live performances and has began to break the scene in both the Tacoma and Seattle area.
