Bio

If you’ve met Brandon Clark, you’d never guess that the voice you are hear is coming from a mere 21-year-old cartoonist. If not for the free guitar he received his junior year of high school, for drawing a t-shirt design, Brandon might have never written his first song. Brandon grew up in north Georgia most of his life, and after graduating high school, [he] ventured down to Savannah, Georgia to attend the Savannah College of Art & Design. There, he discovered a newfound sense of songwriting, built new relationships, and learned new lessons on life.

It wasn’t until a year ago that Brandon took the first steps in a new direction with his music. In the middle months he started writing songs that would turn up on his first album coming out this fall, the ‘Where I Am Now EP’.

“I started taking music more seriously about a year ago. I started writing and playing because I felt the need to explain the things I was feeling. But when people started to connect with my music: that was a greater feeling than anything I felt alone.” Brandon says.

After spending his sophomore year of college playing new places and writing new songs, he decided with the aid of his father and drummer, Dave Clark, to go into the studio and lay down a small album. They ventured to Groove Tunes Studios in Alpharetta, Georgia, assembled an experienced team of musicians, and with the production help of his bass player, Jason Corrigan, laid down the tracks for the brand new album.

The album ‘Where I Am Now’ is the story of where music has taken Brandon thus far.

“The songs on the album are a combination of stories of broken relationships, thoughts on life, and heart sent messages of people I know and have known.”

Musicians featured on the ‘Where I Am Now’ include Dave Clark on drums, Jason Corrigan on the bass/electric guitar, Russ Still on the piano, keys and organs, Andrew Miller on acoustic guitar, and Ali Turn adding in the background and harmony vocals. A special guest appearance was made by Alex Lowe on the saxophone as well.

“I couldn’t have had a better group of folks helping me make the CD. Without them, the album wouldn’t have the feel it does.” Brandon states. “My dad, Jason and Russ are true musicians, and I’ve always looked up to them and guys like them. It was incredible to play with such talented people on MY CD.”

For now, Brandon plans to remain a student at the Savannah College of Art & Design. He also plans to continue taking his art and music to the next level.

“I never thought I’d get this far. I couldn’t have done with out all of the love and support I’ve received over the years from my family and friends. I’ve always loved art and music and I can’t imagine living without them. The combination of all that has happened in my life; the love, the lack thereof, the support, the music, the lessons, and the experiences have brought me to where I am now and there’s no other place I’d rather be. That’s what this albums all about.”
