Bio
Hailing as one of the Philadelphia area's youngest premier performing groups, The Brandywine Fiddlers comprised of 10 of the nation's most talented young violinists. From classical to bluegrass to celtic, The Brandywine Fiddlers do it all with excitement and flare, often performing along with the Matson Run Pickers (vocals, guitar, bass, mandolin). Recently, the group won the title of 1st Place (2010) and 3rd Place (2011) Youth Bluegrass Band at the Seawitch Fiddler's Festival held in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Its members have taken solo titles at numerous fiddler contests including the Seawitch Fiddler's Festival, the Berlin (MD) Fiddlers Convention, and the Lyons Fiddlers Fest (PA). The Brandywine Fiddlers perform frequently throughout the region including recent appearances at Lincoln Center (NYC), The Winterthur Museum (DE), The Hagley Museum (DE), Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Lansdowne Farmer's Market (PA). The group has also opened for David Bromberg and Angel Band three years in a row. The group is lead by Shelley Beard Schleigh.
