Bio

Brandy Young's sound is true country through and through. And, she is no stranger to performing, she has been in the spotlight since she was 8 years old.

Her accomplishments include:
2008 - CMT Chevy Karaoake Star Finalist, Toronto
2004 - Won the "Fred King Most Promising Entertainer's Award" (Fred King is from CKRM AM, Regina)
2002 - Competed in the Senior Saskatchewan Talent Competition and won a Trip to London, Ontario to represent Saskatchewan
2001 - Made a radio commercial at GX94 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan
1999-2003 and 2008 - Performed at Telemiracle (In 1999, she was chosen to perform out of the Saskatchewan talent to sing at the breakfast for the National Cast. In 2008, she was chosen to sing with the National Cast throughout the evening.
1997 to Present - Competed in the CKRM Country Talent Show - made it to the finals six times
1997 - Present - Competed in GX94s Country Talent Show - made it the the finals five times
1997-2004 - Recorded songs at Touchwood Studios, Regina, Saskatchewan.

Her small town roots being raised in Vibank, Saskatchewan lead her to love country music. Her influences include Reba McEntire, Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride, Patsy Cline, Sara Evans, Deana Carter and Terri Clark.

Past performances include:
2008 Saskatchewan Arabian Horse Association Gala at Temple Gardens in Moose Jaw, 2008 Autism Benefit Concert for the Casey Foundation, 2007/2008 Moose Jaw Exhibition, 2007 Canada Day at Wascana Park, 2002 to present Regina Casino Show Lounge & Craven Country Jamboree (main stage), 2002/2003 Regina Exhibition, 2002/2003 and 2007 Pile-O-Bones celebration, 2000 White Night New Years celebration at the Conexus Arts Centre, Creekside Gardens Weekend Country Jamboree in Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan.

She has plans to record her first full-length CD starting this fall with hopes of releasing it in the spring 2009. She would like to tour across the country entertaining audiences with her beautiful voice and compelling stage performance. She would like to open for one of the great artists that have influenced her along the way.

"I love country music so much," says Brandy. "It sounds cliche but it's really a part of my soul - I am always thinking about it. I am going to work hard to make my dreams a reality."
