"Soul Collective “Brave New Girl” Performs Saturday At Drom In NYC"

Fans of talented Montclair musicians Dunia and Aram Sinnreich who missed Dubistry’s recent Ska and Reggae Party, will get another chance to see the versatile husband and wife team perform on Saturday night.
This time it will be with a different group…Brave New Girl: Fresh cut soul from NYC. BNG has performed with Tamar Kali, Ari Up from the Slits, Fishbone, and Neneh Cherry. (How cool is that?)
The progressive soul collective will return for one night to Drom, dubbed “New York’s premiere venue for world music,” by the Wall Street Journal.

“Come celebrate Hanukkwanzmas with Brave New Girl next at our favorite supper club, DROM. They serve amazing Turkish food!” says Dunia. “We’ll be playing a long set, featuring brand new tunes, plus some of your favorites. Dance, drink, eat, and be merry.”

Along with Dunia and Aram, BNG also features Todd Nocera and Matt Urbania on guitar, Emel Alper on background vocals, and Jeffery Dyke on drums. -

"New York's Brave New Girl ... dish out an album that would fit in perfectly with the Motown sounds of the past...[J]ump right in with NO ONE EVER SAID and you'll see why this band is all you need to dance and enjoy the night (or day, for that matter). - In Music We Trust

"Review of "No One Ever Said""

This is a fantastic record that just about anyone can enjoy, and while I'd especially recommend it to folks with a taste for jazz and early '70s-era Motown, I think anybody with an appreciation for talent could recognize No One Ever Said for the treasure that it is. Highly recommended. - Ink 19

Still working on that hot first release.

Born in 1995, in a Park Slope apartment, Brave New Girl strives to fuse many tastes into a unique sound. Singer Dunia Best hired bassist Aram Sinnreich out of his blues roots to join her ska-punk band, Agent 99. Together they found jazz and funk pianist Todd Nocera from Boston band Groove This and Brave New Girl was hatched. They keep finding new people with whom to build a groove. Current and former members have played with Screaming Headless Torsos, Matisyahu, Maceo Parker, Ari-Up, Bernie Worell and more. And they keep coming back for more BNG. You will too.
